High crimes and misdemeanors

October
3

Local activists have upped the call for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney as yet another poll shows approval ratings of the White House and Congress at a new low.

Philipstown for Democracy and the Mid-Hudson Alliance have invited 27-year CIA veteran officer Ray McGovern to speak Oct. 8. The title of his talk at 7 p.m. at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon: “Why impeach now? Our Constitution in crisis.”

Later this month, Nyack Mayor John Shields will open a forum on “The case for Impeachment” at the Ethical Culture Society of White Plains. The Nyack Village Board in April joined dozens of other municipalities in Vermont, Oregon, Utah and other states in calling for congressional investigations of Bush and Cheney.

The Oct. 14 forum in White Plains is sponsored by the Westchester Progressive Forum and about 25 other local groups including the Rockland Peace and Justice Coalition and the Hudson Valley Progressive Democrats of America.

The event will feature journalist and author John Nichols.

  1. Conservative Delegate

The most non political District Attorney in all of New York State has been doing a lot of leg work , not for herself but for Francis Nicolai. She had breakfast with Maxwell and Spane -both men from Putnam county have interesting backgrounds, she called Nick Spano, she had Andy Spano call Nick Spano, she had the Schwartz call Nck Spano to obtain the Conservative endorsement, and the calls and meetings have been documented and go on…now, Dennis Glazer has a certain Judge calling to obtain legal representation for Francis Nicolai so that he can challenge the conservative party. Good Luck! It ain’t gonna happen! DiFiore the Republican defector should concentrate on keeping herself in office, because Doug Colety and many within the Democratic Party have been meeting and are salavating…2009. Glad my slate and I cast our vote against Nicolai. Hang up on me again Frank.
