Giuliani’s $11 million led GOP candidates

October

Republican Rudy Giuliani led the GOP presidential field in third quarter fundraising with $11 million in donations.

The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee announced today that almost all of the new cash—$10.5 million—can be used in the GOP primary. The donations included supporters who attended more than 1,000 grassroots house parties last month.

The committee also said the former New York City mayor’s campaign had $16 million cash on hand as of Sept. 30.

Not far behind was former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who raised $10 million and also loand his campaign $8.5 million from his personal wealth.

Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson’s campaign announced today it raised $9.3 million over the same period and had $7 million cash on hand.

Also today, Arizona Sen. John McCain’s campaign announced it received $6 million in third quarter donations and had $3.6 million in unspent cash.

Michael DuHaime, Giuliani’s campaign manager, said in a press release, “In a continued sign of growing support, our campaign has led the Republican field for the second quarter in a row in the fundraising race. We’re receiving real support from across the country because voters know Rudy Giuliani is the only candidate who has proven leadership, executive experience and can beat the Democrats in November.â€?

Meanwhile, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s $27 million in third quarter donations was more than twice as much as Giuliani’s contributions. Clinton also has outpaced the other Democrats running for their party’s 2008 nomination.

Not Rudy’s Week, Problems Only Getting Worse for GOP Leadership

Early this week it was the “NRA” and then the “Social Conservatives” tossing Rudy Over Board.

Today a Bishop form the most important Catholic Church makes it to the New York Times. (Bush maintained the majority of this important vote to win election)

The Archbishops stance on Giuliani was made public earlier Wednesday in an interview with The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Bishops comments revive an issue that could be a factor for churchgoing voters.

Yet again, Later on today there was More Bad News making the rounds of Rudy & the GOP…

The most important poll of Rasmussen (Polls only GOP Primary Voters) says Most Republican voters consider themselves Pro-Life on the issue of Abortion.

Polls shows that if Rudy Giuliani wins the Republican nomination and a third party campaign is backed by Christian conservative leaders, 27% of Republican voters say they’d vote for the third party option rather than Giuliani.

You can read that poll here:
