New Rochelle candidates to face off

The New Rochelle candidates have several forums coming up next week as the Nov. 6 election nears.

On Monday, Oct. 22, the New Rochelle chapter of the Black Women’s Political Cuacus will hold a forum for all candidates starting at 7 p.m. in St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 108 Guion Place.

The Leage of Women Voters will hold its forums, generally the major face-off for the campaign season, later in the week in City Hall, 515 North Ave. Candidates for mayor and council districts 1 and 3 are expected to face each other at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24. Councilman Barry Fertel who is running unoposed in District 5 will also be given five minutes to make a statement. Candidates for council districts 2, 4 and 6 are invited to appear at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25. County legislators James Maisano and Vito Pinto, who are running unoposed, will be given a chance to make statements.
