Davis’ “mass community meeting”

Mount Vernon Mayor Ernest Davis’s re-election campaign is promoting a “Mass Community Meeting” tomorrow night at 7 at the Macedonia Community Center on West 2nd Street.
It’s unclear who is leading the event, which will take place just as Davis, Democrat Clinton Young and Republican Janet Snyder are expected to meet at a mayoral candidates’ forum in the Fleetwood section of town. Davis is running on the Independence and Republican lines.
The text of the flyer, distributed by the Davis campaign, says (in caps): “There’s a road that leads you from your interest and another road that leads you to your interest. You will be provided sufficient information that you can determine which road you must travel in your children’s interest.”

So let me ask this of The Journal News… if this is a Davis campaign event, why is the Mount Vernon Recreation Department sponsoring it? I’m sure that you read the promotional flyer since you were quoting from it. So did you not notice that the Rec. Dept was sponsoring this event? This is a violation of election law and yet despite repeated attempts on my part to point this out to you, nobody at TJN feels that this violation is noteworthy. For crying out loud, Davis is using taxpayer money to fund his re-election campaign. Get a clue.
That isn’t on the version emailed to us. If you have seen a different copy, I’d be glad to take a look. Our fax is 694-3535. Folks can always call with tips or news items as well; my direct line is 696-8538. Thanks.
Tax payers money paid for Davis whole campaign. It’s no secret. TJN knows what is going on along with everyone else. Davis violated several election laws and still he’s not being held responsible.
Liz Anderson, give me a break. You could care less about what Ernie Davis is doing in Mount Vernon. The news is right there for you but you choose to ignore it. Spare me with you can call in news and tips about the news.
What a joke!
