Another robo-call courtesy of Spano

November
1

It’s not unusual for Westchester residents to get recorded telephone calls from County Executive Andrew Spano alerting them of events going on in the county.

This time, however , the county executive turned his attention to Judge Francis Nicolai and his bid for a seat on the state Supreme Court. Spano, a Democrat and a friend of Nicolai’s, recorded a robo-call for the judge, urging voters to elect him.

Susan Tolchin, Spano’s chief advisor, said the call was paid for by Spano’s campaign organization, Friends of Andy Spano, and did not involve the use of any taxpayer-funded resources.

The call might be the last campaign activity that Spano undertakes for local candidates this fall. According to Tolchin, he’s not planning to make any campaign appearances over the weekend.

“His schedule is clear,” Tolchin said.

Spano, the county’s top Democrat, has made endorsements in local races, though, including Mount Vernon mayoral candidate Clinton Young and Yonkers mayoral candidate Dennis Robertson.

YET SHE (TOLCHIN) CONTINUES TO COLLECT A SIX-FIGURE TAXPAYER FUNDED SALARY WHILE COMMENTING ON POLITICAL MATTERS. AND COME ELECTION TIME, SHE’LL BECOME ANDY’S CAMPAIGN PIT-BULL, ON OUR DIME…

THAT SOUNDS LIKE THERE’S A PRETTY BIG USE (ABUSE) OF TAXPAYER-FUNDED RESOURCES IN THE CE’S OFFICE…

One who understand politics also understands that these employees do there campaigning on weekends and after work hours. In fact in many cases these employees that you claim campaign while working for the government take a leave of absense to organize and help with the campaigns.
Elected officials at this level do not need office workers doing there campaigning for them on the government dime. These elected officials have very large campaign funds and they actually hire a campaign staff.

Well, let’s do a little investigation to find out who’s correct. And why should someone who’s paid by the taxpayers be allowed to take leaves of -absence to “organize and help with campaigns?” Get rid of this useless county government all over NY State!

Why shouldn’t a government employee be allowed to take a leave of absence? County government provides many services for the residents of the county. You should take the time to view any county website and see what services they provide. County government does an excellent job providing for the residents in there county.

You appear to be looking for a debate on the issue. Maybe you should run for office and use your logic as a campaign platform and see what the people think.

No offense to county employees, but the productive ones could easily be incorporated into the towns and cities. Throw this bloated bureaucracy out. County government is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. Why doesn’t Connecticut have county government? Their taxes are lower by far, and Connecticut is hardly Louisiana. In fact, their counties are a lot better off than NY’s in almost every way.
