If its November, it must be robo-call time again

November
1

How would you like to get woken up at 2 a.m. by an automated telephone call asking you to vote for a legislature candidate?

Well, lots of residents in northwestern Westchester — the Board of Legislators District 1 — are answering that question with a resounding “NO” today. And it seems Democratic candidate Domenic Volpe is to blame.

Legislator George Oros, the District 1 incumbent and the legislature’s GOP leader, has called a 1 p.m. press conference at his house to complain about callls that went out early this morninng asking voters to vote for Volpe.

â€Å“I have been barraged by calls all morning from people complaining about my campaign calling them at 2 amâ€?, said Oros in a press release. â€Å“No one has made any such calls for my campaign; I have not contracted for such service.â€?

Volpe, in a conversation with Journal News reporter Brian Howard, took responsibility for the calls, saying his calling company mistakenly entered a.m. instead p.m.

Not only does Volpe have any idea of how to run a campaign, first rule – do not to annoy the voters – and waking them up in the middle of the night is a huge error!
Then to take one vote – that Oros did not even make – and blast him for it is ridiculous. Oros has a proven record on working for the people of Westchester, being fiscally conservative, taking initiatives, protecting the environment, etc.. speaks for itself.

We don’t need additional rubber stamps (Volpe or even Nonna)in the County, and ones that still doesn’t even know the basics at that!

I don’t understand. Volpe sent out a call that said Oros was backing him? Oros said – ”...people (are) complaining about my campaign calling them at 2 AM”? Is Oros backing Volpe? And” its” is correctly it’s, as in it is. And, “to get woken up at 2 AM”? How about “to be awakened”?

Volpe is a moron, a total opportunist. The guy barely has enough experience to run his dry-cleaners, let alone run the county. Residents of the 1st district should go with the experienced, fiscally conservative George Oros.

His “calling company?” When will these arrogant fools take a hike and abandon county government. Oros is the only guy left up there who gives half a damn about taxes, mis-management, and profligate spending. -And they’ll run him out, too. But not this year.
