Edwards on the “Politics of Parsing.”

Posted by: Glenn Blain - Posted in 2008, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards on Nov 02, 2007

It was inevitable that Hillary Clinton’s much-maligned peformance at Tuesday night’s would become fodder for opponents’ campaign videos. John Edwards gets into the act today with a fundraisinng e-mail and video that mocks Clinton’s answers.

With waltz music playing in the background, the “video”:http://johnedwards.com/watch/politics-of-parsing/ features clips of Clinton offering seemingly contradictory statements on such issues as Social Security, Iraq and illegal immigration .

“If you want a candidate who triangulates, calculates and double-talks—someone who will defend the corrupt system in Washington—then John is not your candidate,” Joe Trippi, Edwards’ senior advisor said in the e-mail.

“But if you want someone who will be honest with you all of the time—who knows where they stand, who will fight to end the corrupt system in Washington and bring about the big change we need—then John is your candidate.”

Talk about Global Warming! It looks like
both Hillary and Spitzer are melting down.

And like “The Picture of Dorrian Gray,” what’s
left on view at the final layer is pretty dreadful.

Hillary is a blatant opportunist, but this guy, Edwards, this multimillionaire lawyer with the $400 haircuts is a dismal excuse for a candidate for anything except perhaps suing barbers. What a sorry group, first to last.
