Hillary’s new attack on Obama

Posted by: Glenn Blain - Posted in 2008, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton on Nov 20, 2007

Hillary Clinton seems to be sharpening her attacks on Barack Obama as the two candidates are engaged in a too-close-to-call battle in Iowa.

During a speech in Iowa today, Clinton, playing on the most-experienced-candidate theme of her campaign, offered this zinger about Obama.

“Now voters will judge whether living in a foreign country at the age of 10 prepares one to face the big, complex international challenges the next President will face. I think we need a President with more experience than that.  Someone the rest of the world knows, looks up to, and has confidence in. I don’t think this is the time for on the job training on our economy or on foreign policy.”

Clinton’s statement, according to the Associated Press, was prompted by a comment Obama made a day earlier when asked about his foreign policy credentials. He said his life experience gave him a better feel for international issues than most candidates gain from official trips to other nations.

Responding to Clinton’s latest salvo, Obama spokesman Bill Burton said: “Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld have spent time in the White House and traveled to many countries as well, but along with Hillary Clinton they led us into the worst foreign policy disaster in a generation and are now giving George Bush the benefit of the doubt on Iran.â€?

And just WHAT is Hillary’s experience again?

    Oh, that’s right. NONE.

Camp Clinton is like that symbolic cake in MacArthur
Park…it’s melting in the dark, and in the rain.

does living in the white house between the ages of
45 and 53 give you the gravitas you need to conduct
    american foreign policy..

Maureen Dowd must look a lot better than you do.

Looks up to…has confidence in…??? She must be referring to all the right-wing world leaders who benefit from Imperialist US foreign policy. Hillary represents such an embarrassment for the Democratic party (actually, I mean the real progressives in this country)...on the same theme as the leaders of the Republican pack being an embarrassment for them.
