New Hampshire moves up

November
21

Mark your calendars, the New Hampshire primary is now set for Jan. 8, five days after the Iowa Caucuses and the earliest date ever for the Granite State’s primary.

New Hampshire Secretary of State William Gardner announced the date this afternoon, hours after the Michigan Supreme Court cleared the way for that state’s primary to be held on Jan. 15.

The move up ensures that New Hampshire’s tradition of hosting the nation’s first primary stays intact. That tradition dates to 1920.
