Rudy’s most liberal city

November
21

Rudy Giuliani launched a new television ad in New Hampshire today that, once again, focuses on his record as mayor of New York City. In this one, the announcer refers to New York as the United States’ “most liberal city.”

“The world’s 17th largest economy,” reads the ad’s script.

“Swimming in red ink. Record crime. Runaway taxes. A million on welfare. That was New York. Until Rudy. He cut taxes $9 billion. Welfare 60 percent. Crime in half. The most successful conservative turnaround in 50 years. In America’s most liberal city, Rudy delivered. And he can do it again, in a place called Washington, D.C.”

I say that Boston or San Francisco are way more liberal than NYC. Boston hasn’t had a GOP mayor since the 30s, how many has NY had?

As for cutting welfare, it was due more to Bill Clinton’s policies than Rudy’s.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, Walter…
    you know…Pilgrim.

But Dennis Robertson won’t be having turkey. He’s
having Beef “Jerka.” His just “desserts.”

I really need to stop eating…looking at newsmakers
my belly is starting to show…doesn’t do much
    for my onstage presence..does it?

  8. Ethan Edwards

Well, Consultant, I heard that back in your day Tempest
Storm and Candy Barr also had stage presence.

  9. the consultant

very funny..watch newsmkers this weekend and let me know
    what you think

So, stop looking at newsmakers if your belly grows as a result. But, how does one diet one’s ego?

I saw the program. It was interesting, and lo and
behold Ken Jenkins was back for an encore.

    Cablevision doesn’t promote that program,
which is bizarre because it’s one of its
own productions. But they’re like the JN,
which can’t get its blogs to work for more
than about a week at a time. Upgrade, anyone?
    Better technology or technicians?

Walter, it wasn’t Clinton who cleaned up Times Square, got the squeegie zombies off the corners, enforced quality-of-life laws, and made it reasonably safe to walk the streets. The City was considerably upgraded in this regard.
