The wait for Davis’ financial papers

Posted by: Glenn Blain - Posted in 2007, Ernest Davis, Mount Vernon on Nov 23, 2007

The election campaign is over, but lame duck Mount Vernon Mayor Ernest Davis continues to make news.

Federal investigators, according to “a story”:http://www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071123/NEWS02/711230362 today by Journal News reporter Jonathan Bandler, are still waiting to see Davis’ annual financial disclosure statements and there’s some question about how long its been since he filed them.

Davis said this week that he knew he had not filed this year’s form but could not recall whether he filed them in previous years.

City law requires elected officials, appointed board members and more than 30 commissioners, deputy commissioners and department heads to file financial disclosure statements with the city Board of Ethics by May 31 every year.

Gee, why would such an “honest” person as
Davis apparently fail to file those papers year
after year? ‘Tis a puzzlement, isn’t it? Probably not.

there is an old story about a jewish lady whose
son is in the army..and she goes to the military
parade to see “sammy” graduate from basic training
the recruits pass by the reviewing stand and she
turns to the colonel and says “look colonel everyone
is out of step but my sammy” and so it is with ernie
davis..after 12 years, he lost 600,000 in HUD money,
got the feds to investigate his personal land dealings,
had a brooklyn lawyer threaten his collegues with
subpoenas, and now, he failed to file his required
disclosure forms…everyone is out of step but
    ernie davis!!

Some people aspire to be on the Bored of Ethics because they are just that. And so far as being “out-of-step goes, I own a step-ladder because I never knew my real ladder.

Is this a surprise, really? Ooops it slipped his
mind, had he won can you imagine how much more
pillaging and looting of the city he and his cohorts
would have continued doing? He was really looking forward to more big companies building in Mt. Vernon. And that Lisa Copeland character does she have any pride, apparently not. City Council, what delusional drug is she on? Look Lisa if you weren’t being “Mr. Ed”, yes the talking horse, everywhere all the time, maybe you would be in a better position now. Why don’t you take the Post Office test, and slunk off quietly and go graze somewhere.
