Westchester County Executive Andy Spano is at home resting after having his gallbadder removed this morning at the Westchester Medical Center, our health reporter, Candice Ferrette, has confirmed.
She writes: Spano had pain for a few weeks before scheduling the minimally-invasive, outpatient procedure known as laparoscopic cholecystectomy with Dr. John Savino at the medical center.
But that hasn’t stopped the county executive from attending meetings and conducting business as usual earlier this week.
“It hasn’t sidelined him at all,” said Susan Tolchin, Spano’s chief advisor.
Spano, 71, a father of six and grandfather of nine, has been county executive for 10 years. He’s in otherwise good health, Tolchin said.
“He’s in excellent health,â€? Tolchin said. â€Å“He’s got more vitality than ever.â€?

get well soon Andy…MRE
Ditto. Get well. However, now I know what you were doing last Thursday parked illegally in a fire zone at the front door of WCMC. You had an appointment! Next time, park in the lot and pay the money like the rest of us. If you can’t do that, at least don’t park on top of fire zone outlines.
here’s hoping that the andy spano will be bloat-free both physically and politically – get well soon.
Get well soon Andy. Does that mean Bill Ryan is in charge??
Lock the doors!
They should have done a Frontal Lobotomy!!!
No, General Haig is in charge.
“He’s in excellent health,” Tolchin said. “He’s got more vitality than ever.” I think she meant to say “Vitalis.”
Get well soon Andy!
