Hall opponent gets law enforcers backing

December
21

Kieran Lalor, a Peekskill Republican who plans to challenge Democratic Congressman John Hall, got the backing of the organization representing retired New York City police officers.

The NYCPD 10-13, has its national office in New City in Rockland County and eight chapters around the country. The Hudson Valley chapter has more than 1,000 members .

“We were very impressed with Lalor’s solid, district-wide plan to defeat John Hall,” said James Ferguson, of Stony Point, the organization’s national president.

Lalor said the “early support demonstrates the kind of grassroots momentum we are already building just weeks after announcing my candidacy.”

  1. Al Mazetti

Further proof that a grassroots traditional values coalition is forming behind Mr. Lalor, while Hall hides behind his big money Hollywierd, music industry, and Moveon.org left-wing cronies.

  2. Alicia Brito

Hall is an aberration who was elected because Sue Kelly ran a lousy campaign. Hopefully, he will be tossed out.

what an absolutely absurd statement from that organization “impressed by lalor’s plan to defeat Congressman Hall” ! ! !

Congressman Hall is the epitome of what a congressperson should be.

Hard working, constituent concerned, forever present all around his district.

Grass roots values are what got the good congressman elected and they will get him reelected by an even larger margin

Hollow name calling just ain’t gonna cut the mustard folks !

  4. blah blah

Lalor’s plan? Pray tell, what would that be? I suppose that running around the district praising our idiot-in-chief and supporting a war in Iraq that a large majority of district voters want to end is a plan. I suppose that name-calling and appealing to the lowest common denominator is a plan. I’m wondering who on the board of this retired NYCPD organization is a relative of Lalor.

  5. Amy Ferrara

Does Mr. Lalo have ANY qualifications other than his apparent determination to smear John Hall and turn the police into his political pawns? That’s not enough for me! I’ll stay with Hall, who is serving us extremely well, especially our veterans, ALL our veterans, regardless of their political affiliation.

  6. Kevin W. Davis

John Hall gets the Kevin Davis stamp of approval. Voting against all Iraq funding that keeps us in Iraq and voting against the Peru Free Trade Agreement. Sue Kelly lost because she ran a lousy campaign, her support for the Iraq War and a whole host of other issues.

  7. DJV

I agree with Al Mazetti “a grassroots traditional values coalition is forming”
To Amy I say the man has a Law degree from Pace and a BA from Providence, a former teacher and Combat Marine.
His best qualification is his honesty and charachter.

You may agree with him or not but what you see and hear is what you get,,,,not so sure you get that with MR Hall who supposedly loves us vets then sits down to dinner with Davis Crosby (troops are killers of women and children) and Sorros one of the biggest America haters on the planet.

  8. Sarah Everts

Rant on, John Hall’s loony band of AstroTurfers. You’re not fooling anybody. Don’t you have a Code Pink meeting to go to about now?

  9. Kevin W. Davis

Most of America is not in Code Pink. Most of America is against the Iraq War. Therefore Sarah Everts is saying that she believes that most of America is loony.

  10. ReaganRepublican

Any one of the following qualifications standing alone makes Lalor a great candidate. Combined they make him a supremely qualified candidate:

    1. Life long resident of the District who has always been immersed in the community.

    2. High School Teacher

    3. Marine Corps War Veteran

    4. National Security Activist (Read his published thoughtful commentary which he has proudly posted on his campaign site: http://www.kml2008.com/on_the_record.htm. Or if you prefer, watch him speak about national security issues on TV: http://youtube.com/profile?user=LalorForCongress

    5. Here is my favorite qualification: Hero of Hurricane Katrina:

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina Lalor drove with two Marine buddies to New Orleans with supplies and joined search & rescue teams. Lalor and the other two Marines were awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

The citation of the medal reads in part:

“Corporal Lalor conducted numerous rescue missions by land and water working from dawn until dusk.

“Corporal Lalor’s initiative and selfless devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.”

So Lalor leads a couple of Marines down to New Orleans and starts plucking poor Black people off their rooftops. Sounds like a pretty decent human being to me. Sounds like a guy who could do some good in DC.

By the way, what was John Hall doing when people were suffering along the Gulf Coast besides whining about it?

    6. In terms of academic credentials, Rep. Hall has a High school Diploma and Lalor has a BA and a JD.

    7. Lalor has articulated thoughtful and responsible positions on the most important issues of the day. Here is his platform: http://kml2008.com/issues.htm
    ————————-

I’m so sick of Hall’s minions saying how concerned Hall is about veterans. Hall was never concerned about veterans until after he got elected and he realized there were a lot of us in his District and he needed us to get reelected. He does the routine constituent services that all Representatives are supposed to do and then grandstands about it and pays lip service to veterans issues when his outside the mainstream votes against military funding are scrutinized.

The American Legion and other Vet groups want Mandatory Funding for veterans healthcare. Hall mentioned mandatory funding when he was running but won’t push for it in Washington because Speaker Pelosi and the Dem leadership don’t want it. Lalor put it as a top priority in his announcement speech.

Who do you think is better suited to fight for the needs of veterans in Washington:, an actual vet from a family of Marines who risked his life for this country and who saved lives during the worse natural disaster in our history or John Hall who has had a year to make mandatory funding a reality but has failed to do so because he won’t rock the Democrat boat?

Also, John Hall is for nationalized healthcare and amnesty for illegals. Thus if John Hall had his way, the men who landed at Iwo Jima and Normandy would be waiting on the same line at the hospital with illegal immigrants.

Amy: Did you ever stop to think how offensive it is to say that a group of retired cops are allowing themselves to be used as “political pawns.

blah blah: You make a nepotism claim without any proof. Are you that desperate already, 10 ½ months before the election? Lalor has said all along that cops, firemen and veterans will be the backbone of his campaign just as they are the backbone of our society.

  11. To Early

I have to agree with blah blah, I cannot believe any credible law enforcement organization would be so quick to endorse Lalor unless he has a personal friend, cousin or family member on the board. I would wait for the credible law enforcemnent groups to come out publicly before I consider Lalor a law enforcement backed candidate.

  12. 7Curses

supporters of Congressman Hall are not attempting to fool anyone.

pointing out the virtues of a hard working individual like the good congressman is not going to be misconstrued by anyone as ranting.

code pink is a woman’s group for peace and against war. those are darn good basic concepts and always have been.

calling the congressman’s supporters names is weak and ineffective (lame).

  13. Where is Ball?

Where is Greg Ball, I thought when he signed an agreement with the United States to serve in the military that he would fulfill his commitment. Why did Greg Ball leave the military before his commitment date had come? That question is on the mind of many whom here his name as a candidate for Congress. Ball should clear the air and answer that simply question. “Why the early departure from his commitment to our Country?

    Inquiry minds want to know?
