Kucinich event in NYC Jan. 29

January
8

Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich is coming to the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan later this month for a $26 a head speech.

His talk is titled, “Strength Through Peace, A New National Security Doctrine,”—  a doctrine which, according to the announcement, “rejects unilateralism, preemption
and first strike in favor of direct engagement, diplomacy, and adherence to
international law.”

The speech is at 8 p.m. on Jan. 29. Tickets can be purchased at www.92y.org or by calling (212) 415-5500.

Is this like that tree falling in the forest idea?

If no one is there, does it make a sound?

  2. the consultant

Even if everyone was there it may make a sound..but
    the sound says nothing..nothing…nothing..
how this guy got to be a congressman is beyond
    belief

  3. Ethan Edwards

How you been, Consultant? Happy New Year.

Could be off to a good start tonight if the
    self-anointed Queen is dethroned again.

  4. Anna

    To the consultant.

    Are you a congressman?
Do you think you could be?
    I don’t.
The foreign policy ideas of Dennis Kucinich show intelligence and a depth of understanding on our role in the Middle East. As in a dehumanizing force promoting instability.
Call it the opposite of “shock and awe”, that worked real well for the 3000+ Americans, 600,000 Iraqis, and 2,000,000 refugees.
Five years of “shock and awe”.
Gee I’d say we even made sure Al Qaida doesn’t start up in Iraq.
So the tree fell, some weren’t paying attention, and didn’t hear.

  5. the consultant

first thanks ethan..you too…Hillary is almost gone
but her husband won’t let her exit gracefully..he is
continuing to blame the primary schedule, blame the media
for not “delving into Obama’s record” and blaming anyone
else but his wife who, unfortunately for her, is a
    horrible candidate

and to the above poster…you can be for the war or
against it…you can be a liberal or a conservative
but you cannot be off the wall..and that is exactly
where Dennis Kucinich is…He is making a mockery of
the concept of running for President..kind of like
Paul Feiner running for President..every once in a while
you get very strange people in public office who
I am sure have their constituencies…but it doesn’t
    make them any less strange

    Consultant…to what may I ask?

We are hurdling towards World War III, this administration has said as much. This is possibly the most important election in the history of democracy. The very survival of the human species may depend on it. We are in a situation that demands excellence of character and determined execution to save not only the day, but possibly existence itself, and you are calling Anna’s political belief off the wall. Dude, check yourself. This country is in a world of hurt, and you’re attacking the only political voice that’s calling this mess what it is a mockery. No sir, you are the mockery.

    The moonbats have landed!

  8. Susan For Kucinich

Dennis respects the Constitution of the United States, he respects the Bill of Rights, and he respects the Democratic process.
He will not be a “Corporate Owned” President. I’ve noticed from comments elsewhere on the web that people are picking up on Dennis’ honesty and authenticity. Someone commented that Dennis is able to criticize others, not from a place of ego or arrogance, but from his own committment to truth, integrity, and fairness.
While Clinton, Obama, and Edwards are giving lengthy Foreign Policy speeches over at The Council on Foreign Relations about “future missions” aka: more war, about “shadowy terrorists” aka: the fear card, about “Americas interests” aka: stealing Iraqs Oil; Dennis Kucinich speaks out about Peace as an organizing principal, ending the Iraq war, Not-for-Profit Healthcare, renegotiating trade agreements, repealing the US Patriot Act, and impeaching Dick Cheney. He talks the talk and he walks the walk, with honesty, intelligence, wisdom, insight and humor.
I will not be voting for anyone else BUT Dennis Kucinich for President!

  9. the consultant

If it is so obvious that dennis is the peace candidate
and if it is so obvious that he is intelligent, honest and
forthright etc etc etc..why is he polling at the bottom
of the democratic candidates…the answer is that
most democrats recognize that he is not presidential
    material…that he could not lead a nation..that
he would garner no respect abroad..that he has no
military experience, that he is a quirky goofball who
just happens to have won a congressional seat

  10. Ethan Edwards

Kucinich reminds me of Pee Wee Herman.

  11. JoePezz

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! Can’t wait to attend this event; a talk from the only presidential candidate who inspires me!

Interesting that this site is run by The Journal News, A Gannett Co. newspaper. Gannett Co. is the same company that owns the Des Moines Register, the newspaper that decided Dennis Kucinich would not be allowed to participate in their pre-caucus Iowa debate.

  13. IMPatriot

In addition to this, Douglas H. McCorkindale (at least as of 2004) sits on the board of Gannett Co. AND Lockheed Martin. Donna E. Shalala of Gannet also sits on the board of United Health Group, as does fellow Gannet board member James A Johnson, both of which also share seats over at United Health Group. Ms. Shalala also sat on the Clinton Cabinet from ‘92-2000, along with board members from NASDAQ, Viacom, Ford motor, the Brookings Institution, Citigroup, and the Council of Foreign affairs to name only a few. The rabbit hole runs long and deep, and the web of deceit and corruption grows stronger the longer you follow it, yet even the surface is worth noting. What purpose does it serve to have the heads of one of the largest journalism companies involved with the military industrial complex? And one more question, is it any wonder that voices speaking so loudly against these ties would be silenced? We’re talking about billions of dollars in annual profit and the context to continue on that path. With no bad guy, there is no war, no war no news, no news no advertising, no advertising no money, no money no need to fight bad guy and so on.
Kucinich is plans to redirect America’s interests, taking us into a new era of peace and harmony. I’m not talking about summer camp kum-bi-ya sing-a-longs, but of something far more substantial. Answer me this, why is it such a bad idea to aim for peace? Why is everyone more comfortable shooting for war?
