As the presidential race turns…

Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, sometimes mentioned as a potential running-mate for some of the 2008 front-runners, plans to drop out of the Democratic presidential race today, according to published reports. (Update: He is not expected to endorse anyone else at this time.)

Meanwhile, the Associated Press confirms that 2004 Democratic nominee John Kerry will endorse Democratic candidate Barack Obama at a rally late this morning in South Carolina.
