Poll: 7 percent of primary vote LGBT voters

February
8
Seven percent of those who voted in Tuesday’s presidential primaries in New York were gay, lesbian or bisexual, according to exit polling cited by the Empire State Pride Agenda.

“Gay New Yorkers are a large and loyal block of Democrats who vote in New York,’‘said Empire State Pride Agenda Executive Director Alan Van Capelle. “Not only are they actively engaged in advocating for issues that matter to them like access to marriage for their families and protections from discrimination for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, they also get out and vote.’’

Such voters have historically voted Democratic, the agenda pointed out. In 1998, 77 percent of the gay vote went to Democrat Charles Schumer in his race against incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Alphonse D’Amato. Two years later, a poll showed Hillary Clinton getting 86 percent of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) votes against Republican Rick Lazio.

There was no immediate word, however, on how Clinton did compared to Barack Obama in New York among LGBT voters.

How does one take any credence from a poll organized by a vested interest who hope to use that “poll” to advance their political power and influence? Would a reporter not question this, rather than state it as fact? Especially troubling is how, despite specifics for these other races, they release no figures on Clinton vs, Obama.

That’s what happens when press releases are posted
    without any verification or questioning.
So, take that one with about three pounds of salt.

The 7% number did not come from a poll sponsored by the Pride Agenda. The exit poll was the news media sponsored poll that is being cited in commentary about how Blacks, Jews, seniors, young people, etc. voted.

They stand outside a polling place and ask people if they are gay, Jewish, etc.? Unlikely. How do they get this info and who oversees the tabulation?

An exit poll is conducted by giving voters as short survey which is on paper. They do ask questions such as what is your race, religion, age, gender & sexual orientation.

    BOGUS, BOGUS Press…....

Only NY & LA Press would give this group wasted ink to publicize this information that they throw out to the public.

Soon they will claim they have better numbers then the Foreign War Vets or Evangelicals.

I have never, never, never, never seen an exit poll after someone has voted asking anyone if they were Gay.

Bogus, Bogus, Bogus PR from these people.
