Hispanic clubs to back McCain

February
13

John McCain’s support among New York Republicans is about to include Hispanic Republican clubs from throughout the Lower Hudson Valley and the Bronx, according to Rockland Republican Chairman Vincent Reda.

Reda, who is also a vice chairman of the state GOP, said representatives from Hispanic clubs in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Orange counties will gather tonight at Westchester GOP headquarters in White Plains to formally announce their support of McCain. Bronx Hispanic organizations will also be represented, he said.

“While there may be some confusion on the Democratic side, Republicans have a strong, unified and diverse base of support for our candidate,” Reda said in remarks he prepared for the event.

The endorsements follow the move of the New York Republican Committee, which quickly endorsed McCain after Rudy Giuliani exited the race.
