Clinton on her New York jobs pledge

February
26

When Hillary Rodham Clinton ran for Senate in 2000, she promised to bring 200,000 new jobs to upstate New York, NBC newsman Tim Russert reminded Clinton at tonight’s debate on MSNBC.

Russert, a native of Buffalo, quoted an estimate that upstate communities lost 30,000 instead.

“What happened in 2000, I thought Al Gore was going to be president,’’ Clinton said.

She defended her plan to create 5 million new “green’’ jobs in alternative energy as doable if she is elected president. “I will have a lot more tools at my disposal,’’ she said.

On another issue important to upstate New York – the North American Free Trade Agreement – Clinton repeated her pledge to renegotiate the deal.

Asked if she would go as far as Obama and rescind the agreement, she said, “I will say we will opt out of NAFTA unless we renegotiate it.’’

    WHAT A COP OUT.
Never voted for her. Never will.

That was a total cop out. Absurd.

Hillary cannot be trusted. More promises. what a waist of money she shouldnt be allowed to run for presidency!!!

Not often that I agree with Ethan, but yeah, that was a copout. Only possible followup to that statement would have been to point out what she DID manage to do up there (assuming there was anything,) but she blew that.

On Billary Clinton…..(Which one is running for Office?)

IMO…Dems have trouble…Down the road media and voters will focus….

    Here is Hillary Cllintons record…..

Clinton promised to promote WNY to Corporate America and bring 250,000 new jobs and economic development into Western New York seven years ago.

Instead of promoting WNY to corporate America as promised, Clinton was running across American since that election promoting herself as President….end result, forgetting those in WNY.

By the time Clinton was running for her second term, Western New York LOST another 25,000 Jobs. 35,000 Homes have abandoned by people who have left WNY because they can’t sell them to buyers. (Source NY Times)

Clinton will be a “Lighting Rod” for the GOP Base with stories like this…....

Green jobs? 200,000 more federal and state bird watchers on the payroll. Well, that’s probably better than no jobs at all, which is what she’s accomplished up there.
