Snowy debate night in Cleveland

February
26

It snowed all day in the Cleveland area, but that hasn’t kept away crowds from outside the sports arena on the campus of Cleveland State University where Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama will debate at 9 o’clock tonight.

Clinton, who has seen her lead in Ohio polls erode, gets what may be her last chance to stop Obama’s momentum during this critical face-off that will be broadcast live nationally on MSNBC. Local NBC affiliates in Ohio are broadcasting the event simultaneously.

Given the snowy weather, it’s appropriate that students are passing out green and white foam Viking hats in honor of the university’s mascot.

And the cold didn’t stop the color guard â€â€Å“ a bagpipe band from Parma, Ohio â€â€Å“ from wearing kilts.

One of the cosponsors of the debate is the Committee to Re-elect Dennis Kucinich, Yes, that’s same Ohio congressman and onetime Cleveland mayor who until recently was a long-shot candidate for president. He’s also on the ballot March 4 in northeast Ohio, in a multi-candidate Democratic primary for his congressional seat.

brian i just dont think that readers look to the journal news for national news at least to the extent you are covering it. if i want news about the primaries, I will go to realclearpolitics and get insights from national experts . I think Lohud and local papers should spend more time worrying about what’s happening in your own backyard. a local candidate was featured today in Newsweek, for God’s sake. Isn’t that more germane to the Hudson Valley? His group of vets was never even picked up by Lohud because lohud is busy pretending it is the Washington Post. So the national media has picked up on a Hudson Valley story while the local paper talks about a national story. Yikes.

I don’t think the Lohud coverage of the primaries is bad, but I dont think it should come at the significant expense to local issues.

    YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary’s than they had ever been before or since.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

    Best regards
