Bruno: Time To Move On

Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno said the state business will go on in light of Gov. Spitzer’s expected resignation today.
“There is no pleasure in what is going on in this state in anybody’s life,” said Bruno, who was Spitzer’s chief political foe.
“For the last several days New York has faced a crisis unlike any other ever faced in state history, but it is now time to move on,” Bruno told reporters just moments ago.
“Reports today that the governor will resign underscore the severity of the crisis.”
In an ironic twist, Bruno, who Spitzer sought to ouster, would serve as second in command in state government behind Lt. Gov. David Paterson, who will take the oath of office as governor.
Under state law, there will be no replacement of the lieutenant governor. Bruno would essentially serve as lieutenant governor until the end of 2010.

Any guesses on how long it takes for some dirt to come out on Paterson, with Bruno being next in line?
It’s official, Spitzer resigning effective Monday, March 17. Guess he’s hoping there’s more coverage of the NYC parade, than of him…
It is time to move on…away from the politics of
personal insults practiced by former governor
spitzer..away from viewing yourself as a f’n steamroller
which wreaks of arrogance and hubris…and away
from attempting to coerce the state into being a
one party dictatorship…I feel confident that
the new governor david patterson will accomplish
more with his laidback style and likeable demeanor
than a guy like spitzer ever could…In fact
those of us who grew up with people like elliot
knew in advance what he would be like as a governor
(not the prostitution stuff, who knew)..these
guys come from rich families with no consequences
for bad acts..you wreck the car,,,you get another
one, you flunk out of school, daddy contributes
a swimming pool…these guys are not used to working
for what they get..they are used to entitlement
because of the enormous wealth of their families
wealth by the way they in no way were responsible
for…and in elliots case, he proved to be true to
form…if you don’t earn it..you throw it away
in this case …he was only playing the role of
attorney general..and governor..he never really
earned either title
