Another 100 years in Iraq
Congressman John Hall, D-Dover Plains, vowed today to fight plans by President Bush to leave “hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops in Iraq for the indefinite future.”
Bush wants to put in place a “Status of Forces Agreement” before he leaves office that would tie the hands of the next president by establishing permanent bases in Iraq, Hall said.
“What is even more outrageous is that Bush is negotiating this treaty, with the stated intention of having the Iraqi Parliament ratify it, without submitting it to Congress for approval,” Hall said. “Rest assured that I am fighting vigorously for legislation to deny funding for any such attempt to further usurp Congressional power.”

doesnt that headline at least deserve a question mark?
John Hall is an anti-war shill, just like all of his supporters. We dont need polhudson to tell us this. why the radio silence on his republican opponent, lohud?
Client #7?
Client #7
So John Hall pefers a cut and run approach as he originally promised when he was elected. I guess Cut and run is too harsh. How about just minimize our losses and hope that terrorism is a fad that falls down and evaporates…like the approval rating of the Democrat Congress!
The only way that fighting terrorism and Iraq have any relation to each other is if our government has decided to recruit new Iraqi terrorists by the thousands by torturing and killing their families, though they had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11.
Does anyone out there still wonder why we let Osama bin Laden escape Tora Bora, and why we continue to let him live and run Al Qaeda from within the borders of our so-called ally, Pakistan?
Or, will you just all parrot “cut and run, cut and run” when addressing any question of actual logic in protecting our country?
Oh, and by the way, whether you like it or not, it is the constitutional duty of Congress to declare war, not our king’s.
Spin as you like, and the past 8 years have still been an unbroken litany of making us less and less safe, more and more hated, and less and less free.
