That man in the middle

March
20

dnfront.jpgWestchester Democratic Chairman Reginald LaFayette awoke this morning to find himself smack in the middle – literally – of the Gov. David Paterson/extramarital affair controversy.

LaFayette is pictured on the cover of The New York Daily News standing between Paterson and the woman he reportedly engaged in an affair with, White Plains resident Lila Kirton. The New York Post also ran the photo on an inside page.

In a telephone conversation a few moments ago, LaFayette said he does not recall when the photograph but believes it was likely at some Democratic Party function – either in Westchester or New York City.

“We are trying to figure it out,” LaFayette said. “Whenever you are someplace like that, you have photographers coming around to take pictures.”

Despite what the photo may suggest, LaFayette said he played no role in introducing Kirton to Paterson.

“They have to have known each other for 20 years,” LaFayette said.

As for the Daily News’ headline, LaFayette said: “Certainly, I am not the money, and certainly I do not live in New Jersey, so I am not the honey.”

“Certainly, I am not the money, and certainly I do not live in New Jersey, so I am not the honey.”

Thats right. They forgot ”...& the Dummy”

Reggie is a good man who is doing a terrific job as Chairman. Don’t be a hater! Reggie is a stand up guy who does the right thing by the people in his party.

  3. ed

He certainly did an exemplary job with the Mt. Vernon contingent over the past 12 years.

GIVE REGGIE A BREAK…HE IS A NICE GUY WHO WAS
AT A FUNDRAISING EVENT…ITS LIKE GETTING YOUR
    PICTURE TAKEN WITH DAN QUAYLE!

  5. ed

He certainly did an exemplary job with the Mt. Vernon contingent over the past twelve years. IT’S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY PICTURE, AS LONG AS WE’RE USING CAPS. And what’s with all this “Reggie” stuff? What is this, Archie comics?

  6. Wahoo

The Consultant looks like a man for all reasons. He is becoming bi-party. First he defends Paterson only to back off on it, and then he makes it sound like “Reggie” didn’t know either Paterson or Kirton before the photo was taken.

One who gets a pass on such photos is Mrs. Jimma Carta, who posed with John Wayne Gacy at some event in Chicago.

What Ed talks about is true. How did “Reggie” do with that wonderful Mt. Vernon crowd for all those years?

  7. ed

Maybe the Consultant, counting the Democratic enrollment, is pondering if his professional consulting would better prosper on the other side of the aisle. He wouldn’t go over to the dark side, would he? Unlikely. I don’t think he can be bought. His uncle may have left him part of that 50 million.

  8. ed

BTW, “A Man For All Seasons” is one of my favored plays/movies. As Thomas More said: “I give the Devil benefit of law for my own safety’s sake.”

  9. predix

Bruno will be Governor within a month.

  10. the consultant

my uncle did leave me part of the kings ransom fortune
but that is not the issue..I don’t believe in skewering
poltical figures just because they are democrats..sure
reggie is not a great leader..but he didn’t do anything
other than pose for a picture…joe bruno on the other
hand is apparently the target of a federal investigation
so I don’t believe in casting the first stone..if
david patterson has done anyting untoward I will be
the first to call for his resignation as I did with
zhey jeries..byt the way the only repubilcan to do
it…and way ahead of everyone else….but you need
to be fair and balanced (not stealing from fox)
and not simply trying to get scalps…..for those
of you who like scotch whiskey who remembers kings
    ransom?

  11. ed

Ah – King’s Ransom – Good enough for Truman, Stalin, and Churchill at Potsdam, good enough for me!!!

  12. Zeppo Marx

    And the consultant’s uncle was…...?

  13. ed

    Armand Hammer?
    Joe Kennedy Sr.?
    Maurice Richard?
    Don Newcombe?
    Andy Warhol?
    William Buckley?
    Alvin Ruskin?
    Leona Helmsley?
    Andy O’Rourke?
    Wilt Chamberlain?

  14. Zeppo Marx

LOL. I’d bet Joe Kennedy senior is in the right ballpark, but not Don Newcombe this time.

  15. Jason

Agreed. Bruno will be the Gov soon enough. Paterson is an ethics mess, and when the criminal violations start getting tallied, Paterson will also have to resign.

  16. the consultant

Ed your command of history is impressive..that is exactly
what they drank at potsdam..and fortunately thanks to
the internet I have several bottles left..hopefully one
to be opened soon when my son graduates high school
    here’s to ya…

  17. ed

Prosit! Will your son head off to your alma mater, con? What an exciting time for a young boy.

  18. Reggie

Reggie knows Lila just as well as Paterson and even better.
Maybe Reggie released the picture for some PR for himself knowing they could not cut the middle man out of the picture. Reggie has been seen around town with Lila on many occassions.

  19. Sally

Reggie isnt shit either. He is the most corrupt scalawag you could know. So stop lying to defend this man. He is not better than his best friends Davis, The Whore and the crew.

  20. Rocko

Yeah and now ‘reggie’ i dating this whore from new rochelle named sha-kee. haha he lost
