A John Spencer sighting in Yonkers

March
31

Former Yonkers Mayor John Spencer, who has kept a relatively low profile since getting routed by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2006, will speak to a gathering of Republicans in his hometown Thursday night.

According to a notice from Jim Faulkner, a Republican ward leader in the 3rd District, Spencer will be the guest speaker at the district’s meeting Thursday night.

Faulker described the night as “The best damn Republican meeting in the whole world.” It begins at 7 p.m. at the Ukrainian Center on Palisades Avenue.

FAULKNER – IS THAT THE GUY WHO KEEPS RUNNING FOR THINGS BUT NEVER WINS. HANG THEM UP PAL!

  2. ed

I think I hear the ghost of Roy Orbison octaving in the background at the Ukrainian Center: “It’s OOOOver.”

  3. Paul Revere

His “Only the Lonely” could work for this one, too.

  4. ed

Ha! Right – or “In Dreams.”

once you have lost your credibiity it is virtually impossible to get it back…John could have been an able
elder statemans whose experience and advice would have
been sought and valued by the current mayor..instead he
chose to undermine his own selection for that office
he supported vinny restiano in the primary..and was
linked to robertson in the general…this is not
the kind of republican that should be appearing
    at republican functions

    “this is not
the kind of republican that should be appearing
    at republican functions”

IIRC, he was in one of the pictures at that Greg Ball shindig a few weeks ago.

Ed and Paul- my vote’s for “Mr. Pitiful.”

  7. the consultant

if greg isn’t careful, he will have a republican senator
not real interested in his re election

Well John Spencer was routed by a Republican Party cuckhold by Pataki
and the present media supporting Criminals Hevesi, Spitzer and as we
see a lyery in Hillary. Janett DiFiorie was asked to arrest Hevesi and
by implication get an indictment against Spitzer for covering up the
affair. Her pay off was the embracing by the Democratic Party.
All campaign finance law are only for the incumbent and never for
Change. That by itself was the biggest reason for John and myself’s
    loss.

Is there a translator in the house?

There could be a drop or two of truth somewhere in there, but who can translate Faulknerise?

  10. ed

A drop or two of what?

  11. Ben

Spencer is a Has Been. Faulkner is a Never Was.
I hope that they have fun together on Thursday night. What’s the over/under on the attendance?

  12. Paul Revere

That depends on whether it’s the actual paid crowd, or the papered crowd or the announced attendance. It makes a difference. Either way, about 20 at most. Enough for about 4 bowling teams or poker games. Everyone will be holding Aces and Eights.

  13. ed

I know what they’d be holding if they were a bowling team.

  14. Paul Revere

    Round but not roundabouts.

Aces and eights is the “dead man’s hand.” Said to be the poker hand Wild Bill Hickock was holding when he was shot. And not by “Jingles” Andy Devine, either.

  15. Jim Faulkner

Stop by we will be civil.

  16. ed

Only kiddin’, Jim. Enjoy the evening and thanks for the invite.

    John

You can do it..Keep on moving

    And ducking.

to Jim Faulkner…you can’t be seriously blaming Spencer’s
loss on Janet DiFiore…any crimes committed by Hevasi
and or SPitzer were committed statewide and either
fall within the jurisdiction of the attorney general
or the albany county da..where do you get your
misinformation from? you lost and spencer lost
because you didn’t get as many votes as your
opponent. In SPencer’s case, he ran against a strong
incumbant democratic senator who was the former
first lady and who was pro choice in a state where
80% of voters are pro choice and where democrats outnumber
republicans 5 to 2…so your excuse is hardly
credible….but keep thinking that way and maybe
if we keep nominating that type of candidate totally
out of sync with new york voters we can have a truly
one party state..but please don’t drag janet difiore
into the discussion…she was part of no deal and
who ever told you she was is feeding you intentional
    distortions
