Albany County DA: We Wanted Spitzer

March
31

Albany County District Attorney David Soares is appearing tonight on Capital Tonight, which airs on Time Warner Cable Channel 9, to discuss his report Friday that found former Gov. Eliot Spitzer was closely involved in trying to smear Republican foe Joe Bruno.

Soares said he gave Spitzer’s former communications director Darren Dopp immunity so he could focus his investigation on whether Spitzer initially lied when Spitzer said he wasn’t involved in the plot.

“Darren Dopp was not the person who, in my opinion, who was the person who should be prosecuted in this instance,” Soares says in the interview. “Darren Dopp provided us with information that would have allowed us to pursue the governor of the state of New York and that is what we did.”

But Soares has been heavily criticized for not pursuing Spitzer in his first report on Troopergate in September. Then Soares defended Spitzer and said Spitzer had nothing to do with attempts by aides to comply travel documents on Bruno’s use of state aircraft. Now, Soares said he can’t pursue Spitzer because Spitzer is no longer a public official.

this is exactly the reason that soares needs to be superseded…he failed to do this first time around
now he says spitzer is out of office..bull if a crime
was committed while he was in office in albany county
soares still has jurisdiction and the statute of
limitations hasn’t run…he refuses to discharge
his constitutional obligations…he is in dereliction
of duty…he should be removed….and while we are on
the subject if you have HBO on demand watch the John Adams
series…that will define what duty is ….
and finally I have determined who michael bogdanos is
the ada that sam zherka is suing..boy did they pick the
wrong guy..go google him….this guy is an american
war hero a star and zherka has picked the wrong fight

Soares has to go. He covered up for Spitzer, got caught, and is now trying to get off the hook.

Michael Bogdanos is an Iraq War hero, a Marines Reserves Colonel, and is one of Morgenthau’s top assistants in Manhattan. If he’s the one who is after Zherka for numerous possible felonies, the odds would be heavily in Bogdanos’ favor. Suing him was not a smart move by Zherka.

and who is dropping the ball in prosecuting the president, vice president, sec of state and all the really really big criminals who have caused death and destruction around the world.

Thanks for the comic relief, Yellowdog aka 7Curses aka blah blah.

According to 7Curses, the USA is all to blame. 7Curses sounds like Obama’s pastor, Jeremiah Wright.

And no blame for the radical Muslims. Of course not.

    Paul Revere –

Let’s not confuse the USA with the current leadership of the USA.

Bush, Cheney et.al. are the problem, not the USA itself.
Stop mixing the two. The USA is a great country. Bush and Cheney are politicians.

Conservatives were pretty clear that they loved the USA but hated President Bill Clinton and his policies.

Well, guess what – a lot of patriotic Americans hate President George W. Bush and his policies. We love America every bit as much as you. We fought in wars, and serve our communities, too. No one PHILOSOPHY has a monopoly on PATRIOTISM!!!

Bush and Cheney foolishly entered into a war that they miscalculated, and now, it is very difficult to get out of. They are to blame for this mess, not the troops or the generals. The politicians who led us there.

Afghanistan was a war worth fighting – home of Al Qaeda. Iraq was not – home of secular Ba’athists. Saddam was dangerous – but much less so than the Loony Bird in North Korea. Did we go into North Korea with guns blazing? No.

So there is patriotism and there is policy.

Yer boys have advanced an unwise policy.

What in hell does any of this have to do with the Albany DA?
