An unwelcome return to Bosnia

April
11

The furor over Hillary Clinton’s Bosnia remarks — where she told of being under threat of sniper fire — got a fresh boost of energy this week from an unexpected source — the candidate’s husband.

Former President Bill Clinton, stumping for Hillary in Indiana, tried to explain and downplay the controversy.

“A lot of the way this whole campaign has been covered has amused me,” Bill Clinton said in Boonville, Ind., according to an Associated Press account. “But there was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995.”

But Bill Clinton’s comments also seemed to contain some exaggerations. ABC News’ Jake Tapper counted 8 errors in the former president’s sniper defense story.

For starters, the most glaring incident of Hillary Clinton telling the sniper tale came at a mid-morning news conference, not late at night.

Hillary also told the Bosnia sniper lie at least three times, none of which was at night.

It’s even better. Bill Clinton also said Hillary was tired, and that she was 60 years-old. In other words, she’s over the hill. So who would answer that White House phone at 3 a.m.? Bill, taking Monica’s calls again? Bill Clinton is personally sinking what’s left of Hillary’s campaign.

Obama has more troubles now too—having made very poor comments about Pennslyvania voters. Specifically, that with jobs gone they can become bigots, acquire guns, and turn to religion. That’s a paraphrase, but it’s accurate.

And what it says about Obama is not good.

Obama’s disparaging remarks about Pennsylvnia residents were made to a group of wealthy Californians in Marin County. The Huffington Post, which no one can call sympathetic to Republicans, has the story about this latest Obama blunder, a big one.

    “some exaggerations” ???

Bill Clinton outright lied to try and justify Hillary’s lies about Bosnia, and with the usual Clinton whine, blamed the media.

Lied about NAFTA, Lied about Bosnia, Lied about Colombian trade (for which Bill, Penn, and Wolfson received millions).

Hmmmm, no one can tell the truth at Camp Clinton.

Let’s send Andy Spano and Bill Ryan (and perhaps Mr. Rogowsky) to Bosnia. Rather than China or other cakewalk destinations, our brave county exec and his legislators should visit some good war zones. Perhaps they will come to grips with what is great about our country—no street violence, no ethnic conflagration, and no taxation without representation—plus, they will be able to come to know the YACS up close and personal, furthering their awareness of what confronts Westchester today.

Ryan was just in his own Desert Storm—in Arizona sand traps. Andy Spano’s idea of a war zone is a long line at a Chinese take-out in Mount Vernon.

We’re having fun with well-deserved cyncism being directed at Ryan and Andy Spano. But Bill Clinton’s most recent lies, which are outrageous, and Obama’s very patronizing and elitist statements about Pennsylvania citizens are going to be very important. They already are.

It is great fun, this fratricidal behavior of the two remaining Democrats whose uncontrolled egomania drives them to be president.

The Democrats have hobbled their party this year. History WAS on their side, prior to February: since 1946, neither major party has held the White House for more than two consecutive terms, with the exception of 1988, when RWR’s legacy aided GHWB in defeating Michael Dukakis. It should have been a “change of party” year, owing to centrists whose voting decides national elections. (“It’s the economy, stupid!” “Misery index.” “Law and order.”)*

McCain will win with 400 electoral votes, no need for US Supreme Court intervention, this November.

In today’s New York Daily News, the moderately liberal Michael Goodwin writes a strong column about Obama’s perhaps fatal elitist and condescending comments about Pennsylvania residents.

Obama won’t be able to call on Hillary and Bill Clinton to show him how to duck the severe sniper fire he’s getting over those major and very revealing remarks, which he made to a group of wealthy San Francisco liberal Democrats.

The Clintons are busy preparing to appear on a re-make of the old quiz show, “To Tell The Truth.”

Obama has already issued a statement which attempts to
clarify remarks made during a closed fundraiser.
lesson number one ..no such thing as a closed fundraiser
lesson number two..the democrats are about to nominate
a very smart man, a constitutional law professor, and
    a sociologist to boot…just like…..adelai stevenson
and the results will be the same!
