Astorino awaits the Pope in DC

April
15

Rob Astorino may be gearing up for another run against Westchester County Executive Andrew Spano in 2009, but at the moment his thoughts are focused on another, more lofty, indivudual – the Pope.

Astorino, who runs the Catholic Channel for Sirius Satellite Radio, is at Andrews Air Force this afternoon waiting for the arrival of  Pope Benedict.

In an e-mail, Astorino said he expects to be in Washington, D.C. all week heading up the station’s coverage of Pope Benedict’s visit and then will return to New York when the Pope travels here on Friday.

Astorino said he expects to meet the Pope Saturday morning at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The Republican joked, however, that he does not intend to seek guidance from Pope Benedict about whether to challenge Spano again in 2009.

Good for Rob Astorino. He has a successful career in the private sector (real world). Astorino is exactly the type of person we need in government.

Andy Spano has been in County Government since 1982 and Bill Ryan has never had a real job in his entire life. No wonder this government is so screwed up.

I look forward to Rob Astorino’s 2009 campaign and let’s hope the people are smart enough to hire him this time around!

right on! astorino is a great guy and he’ll be a great leader for westchester county.

Andy Spano won’t run again. He is a tired old man.

The voters of Westchester will have a choice. They can either select Spano’s protege (more of the same) or they can go with an experienced, fresh leader like Rob Astorino.

2009 may seem far away now, but we really need to put this government on a diet. Astorino is the man for the job.

If Andy does not run again, the job should be Nick’s to lose.

I have seen and watched Andy Spano and I can tell you he is neither old nor tired. Andy Spano is dedicated and hard working and I hope he does seek another term in office. Andy Spano is the right person for the job of Westchester County Executive, he has the right disposition and he treats people with respect. You do not have to always agree with him, but at the end of the day, Andy does have the concern of the people of Westchester County at heart. I hope Andy Spano runs again and I look forward to supporting him and the agenda he has put forth.

Not even the Pope could help this loser!

Rob Astorino is the man of greatest moral character whom citizens of Westchester County could elect.

    Forget “RJ,” a cowardly, closeted-homosexual, anonymous little person, with a really-small you-know-what.

Think more of a courageous guy: Rob Astorino.
