Bruce Springsteen says Obama is born to run!

Posted by: Glenn Blain - Posted in 2008, Barack Obama, Bruce Springsteen, Hillary Clinton on Apr 16, 2008

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen endorsed Barack Obama’s campaign for president today, describing the Illinois senator as “head and shoulders above the rest.” The endorsement was made via a statement on Springsteen’s website.

“He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next President,” Springsteen said in the statement. “He speaks to the America I’ve envisioned in my music for the past 35 years, a generous nation with a citizenry willing to tackle nuanced and complex problems, a country that’s interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit. A place where ’…nobody crowds you, and nobody goes it alone.’”.

Who gives a flying you-know-what what a moron like Springsteen-or anybody in show business-thinks about politics?

sara is exactly correct..springsteen makes music..
I would rather have the opinion of a run of the mill
economist…that;s what countys not celebrity endorsements

Bruce has done some great songs. But he’s out of tune on this one. For instance, he talks about Obama leading everyone to an America “where nobody crowds you.” WHAT?

Obama is a very big liberal who stands for very big government. Under Obama, the government would be crowding Bruce right into the ocean off Asbury Park.

And forget “I’m On Fire,” Bruce. The Obamas of this nation want to ban smoking and a zillion other things. So put out that cigarette now. And stay out of Burger King and bakeries too. Trans fats are not permitted. And make sure you wear a helmet when jogging. Being “Born To Run” doesn’t give you a pass on that one in Obama’s America.

do you really want a constitutional law professor
as the president…we had an academic once…woodrow
    wilson…not very impressive….he spoke well too…
and then there was adelai stevenson who when told
that thinking people preferred him..he responded
“but I need a majority” by the way my mother
who was the chief chemist for the dougnut corportation of
america an honors graduate of columbia, welsley and executer, and invented the powedered egg during world war
    I was for adelai…my dad…who didn’t graduate high
school but was brilliant was for eisenhower….sound
    like a familiar scenario..

They [Young People] have exalted notions, because they have not been humbled by life or learned its necessary limitations; moreover, their hopeful disposition makes them think themselves equal to great things—and that means having exalted notions. They would always rather do noble deeds than useful ones: Their lives are regulated more by moral feeling than by reasoning—all their mistakes are in the direction of doing things excessively and vehemently. They overdo everything—they love too much, hate too much, and the same with everything else. – Aristotle

Slick Willie was a law professor too.

    Nuff said.

Springsteen is a millionaire hypocrite as is Obama. Both preach one thing and live their lives another way. If Bruce cares about economic inequality, why does he charge $95 for concert tickets?

  9. Paul Revere

That’s $95 for the cheaper seats. The “E” in E-Street Band is short for Easy Street. Talented as he is musically, Springsteen is just another limo liberal.

Oh! This is beautiful for the Republican Party (I am one of them).

Rock star endorsements of presidential candidates work as the kiss of death.

St. George McGovern, in 1972, had the majority of endorsements of rock stars. Right on! He carried Massachusetts and DC, as Nixon rolled to a commanding majority across the nation.

Me, I’m hoping for a reprise of ‘72, without the burglaries.
