Clinton’s Fundraising Plea (Updated)

April
23

Fresh off her Democratic primary win in Pennsylvania, Hillary Rodham Clinton is asking donors to pony up.

She said this morning that her campaign already raised $3 million after the important primary win Tuesday. And her campaign could use the cash: She reported in March that the campaign had just $9 million and $10 million in debt.

Barack Obama, meanwhile, had more than $40 million in his campaign coffers at the beginning of the month.

Updated: Her campaign said this afternoon that she is on track to raise $10 million online in the 24 hours since she was declared the winner of the Pennsylvania primary.

Here’s some of Clinton’s email to donors:
Dear Friend,
This campaign is your campaign, and the victory we celebrated last night is your victory.
Now, thanks to you, the tide is turning in this race. We never stopped believing in one another, never doubted that we could count on each other. You didn’t quit, and when I’m president, I promise I won’t quit on you.
Now with the next critical contests right around the corner, we need your immediate help to build on the hard-earned momentum of our Pennsylvania victory and continue our success all the way to the nomination.
Contribute today to help carry our momentum to Indiana, North Carolina, West Virginia, and beyond.

Hillary’s win in Penn. creates a conundrum for the rich fellows and unions looking for favors who like to back a winner with their $. They have to double-up until they get a candidate. When one is finally picked, they can just sent it in to both McCain and the Dem, unless one is the clear-cut winner, in which case, they can can overload him or her with their payments in search of reciprocation.

And, voila, 1010 WINS reports she raised 10 million bucks within 24 hours of the victory.

And so much for the Zogby poll which basically called it an even race.

The Democrats are tearing themselves apart. And what the Dems have torn asunder, let no man join together.
