To NOT enact an ordinance was [b]IRRESPONSIBLE[/b] and a blatant disregard for the health and safety of the residents of this town. Carmine voted FOR the phasing of fees for his special developer friend Paul Camarda. In essence this amounted to another [b]interest-free loan [/b]to the developer. Despite knowing that Mortgage Tax income would be [b]DOWN[/b], Carmine continued to vote in favor of projects that would [b]cost the Town millions[/b]. Carmine sez: "We're an affluent Town." ... I'm sure the "affluents" in this Town and County would like to stay that way. I would much rather have a straight forward elected councilman or legislator then someone who is phony and only tells you what you want to hear. Carmine calls like it is and I respect him for that. Carmine is a caring man who cares about the community he represents, sometimes the truth hurts and people do not always want to hear the truth. Carmine has an extensive background in working in government and working with elected officials throughout the state, there is no question in my mind that he would be a tremendous attribute to Putnam County if elected County legislator. Anybody who has attended a Carmel Town Board meeting has clearly seen Mr. DiBattista in action. This man is evil and he takes out his frustrations on members of the audience, taxpayers. I'll do everything in my power to undermine his bid for a County Legislator position. Robert McGuigan missed many meetings, but he was probably a better man for the job! NO WAY!

All one has to do is turn on the TV and see him berate several members of the audience becuase they have the temerity to question the facts. It is his job to reach a consensus, not the job of those in the audience, and he failed miserably in doing so. If he can't handle working on the Town Board, how in the world is he going to handle himself when the issues are far bigger, and he has to work together? He has done things that are clearly wrong, yet instead of simply admitting his mistakes, he went on the attack versus members of the audience who discovered the misconduct. That's unprofessional and unethical. He was caught red-handed, plain and simple. And found guilty by the Board of Ethics, I might add. Instead of simply admitting it and movng on, he screamed and screamed and screamed. I guess you didn't watch that part of the TV broadcast. I'm sorry, I cannot bring myself to vote for this man nor support him in any way. Mr. Buckley,

I have watched as Carmine negotiated with Governors, the NY State Senate, the NYS Assemblyman, County Executives and other important elected officials, I believe Carmine’s extensive knowledge of Albany and his effective lobbying abilities would make him a tremendous asset to the residents of Putnam County. I will be supporting and working hard to help get Carmine elected. Carmine has a Master Degree and is well versed in many aspects of life and that experience will benefit all of us. We need a person who understands how the process works outside of local politics, with Carmine’s relationships in Albany he will serve as a tremendous liaison between Putnam County and the NYS legislature.
