A plan to ban Westchester County government

April
28

Spurred on by anger over high taxes and proposed raises for County Legislators, the move to abolish Westchester County government may not be rolling yet, but it’s at least at the starting line.  Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner and Yonkers City Councilwoman Joan Gronowski hold their first joint meeting of the Committee to Abolish County Government,  Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Will Library on Central Avenue near Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers. The meeting is open to the public.

Among the first actions the committee plans will be a petition drive calling on New York State to commission an independent study to look into Connecticut’s experiences and how that state, which abolished county government several decades ago, manages. For more information contact Feiner at 914-438-1343 or Gronowski at 914-377-6313 or 914-589-8213.

I think its time we ban some elected members of our County Governmet. Andy Spano, Larry Schwartz, and Janet Difiore. These three people are the reasons for all the corruption at the county level. Andy and Larry steal and D.A Janet Difiore covers it up. Why is it that the feds have to constantly step into local investigations. Why does the County DA exist. The time has come for Janet Difiore to admit that she is unfit to do the job and to step down. How many more tax dollars will be stolen by her acccomplices and how many more peoples rights will be violated by Difiore and her office.

Yahooo, baby, I agree with the above poster. Get rid of Andy Spano, and Janet Difiore. They are both corrupt. Its time the people take back our county.

i agree. if Difiore was a fit and honest DA there would be no need for the feds to get involved in local issues. Shes sneaky, corrupt, and needs to be in an insane asylum.

Aymen! Brett hit it right on the head. Andy Spano or should I say the Spano name along with Janet Difiore and a bunch of others have ruined this county.
Janet Difiore along with Andrew J Spano are to blame for every act of corruption, prosecutorial misconduct, and mismanagement in our county Government.
    What a bunch of stooges.

Why dont we get a petition going, asking that we ban Westchester County Politicians, such as Andy Spano, Janet Difiore from County Government rather than ban the government from Westchester. Would,nt it be easier to just get rid of these two political operatives.

I truly beleive that Andy Spano, and Janet Difiore and their hacks are corrupt. Why else would all that is going on, go on!. This county needs to eliminate these two, before we eleminate county government. Janet Difiore and Andy Spano give county government a bad rap.
