State Assemblyman Greg Ball sent out a copy of a mailer today touting some upcoming fund raisers. On one side are the upcoming events. On the other is a copy of a New York Times story about Ball’s actions during the state Legislature’s vote for a new comptroller.
If you remember, Ball, R-Carmel, criticized the Legislature for backing one of their own for the position left empty by the resignation of Alan Hevesi. Here’s the story, notice the date.
Now, here is Ball’s mailer with the same story but dated a year later, 2008 instead of 2007. (Right click on the previous link if you’re having trouble downloading the mailer.)
Maybe it’s a typo and someone needs to check the calendar. Or maybe it’s an effort to freshen things up.

more lies and manipulation from greg ball. there was no typo here, everything is well thought out with this guy. he’s done nothing positive since february of 2007… otherwise he would send out a new article or a list of new accomplishments.
this guy is all talk and no action… maybe that’s why his own hometown republican committee is not even supporting him for re-election.
I notice that his new mailer leaves out the part where Ball told Spitzer that Old Client #9 could count on Greggie’s support in cleaning up Albany.

This was Greg Ball’s comments on February 7, 2007 when “The Emperor” Governor Spitzer unsuccessfully tried to steam roll his way over the state legislature by placing his hand picked Comptroller in office. Since that time Mr. Ball has flaunted a flashy video he made to promote the way his was willing to carry the Governor’s political agenda. This video which was widely available has now been pulled from the public domain. Mr. Ball spent months beating his chest that he was willing to forget about the theory of checks and balance and support the Governor’s ploy to control the very person who would be responsible to audit state government. Why, because the Assemblyman cares more about being in front of the cameras than he does for his constituents.

Greg’s biggest accomplishment was to single handily get elected the most disfunctional Supervisor of a Town in Putnam County. Thanks to Greg’s political machine, the Town of Southeast is more disfunctional than even Albany. The lies that continue to eminate from Town Hall are so outrageous. Many of us know that Greg Ball only stands for Greg Ball. He probably should have gone into acting and playing convincing rolls in the movies. How sad that many people believe his act. If posters can spread the word NOT to vote for him it will be helpful to get him out of office.
Greg Ball is a very sick man, people have no idea the depths this man will go to, to deceive people. Stop for a minute and take a look at the clowns Greg Ball surrounds himself with. Let’s take a look at the good things Ball has done since his surprise election win…............. Well, I can’t think of one.
This guy has been rustling the bushes and trying to drum up support for himself the entire time he’s been in office. Assemblyman Ball doesn’t represent us, he represents himself. His most recent publicity stunt is an announcement that he’s sponsoring several fun events…....obviously to drum up support for himself and raise money for his upcoming election campaign. Does this guy ever stop?
I don’t care about illegal immigrants. I care about taxes, spiraling food and fuel prices, job stability and the painful price of health insurance.
Now is the time to put a stop to the madness. Let’s elect somebody (anybody) who puts our agendas in front of his.

Interesting that someone posted that the Dutchess County Rep, party will not endorse Ball. This should be confirmed.
Greg out at a local watering hole? with a new friend? Hmmm…..Pawling is a small gossipy town and if he out drinking, etc., word will spread around quickly.
Perhaps his former lady friend saw the real Greg and got out while she still had her integrity. Too bad for Greg, he had a free ride in lady friends home. haha…funny to be going on 31??? this fall and back home with mommy and daddy.
Not to quibble, but someone in this forum raised a good point: Is it legal to alter a copyrighted NY Times page, reprint it and then distribute it publicly?
Obviously people have created pages similar to the NYT pages with the clear intent to lampoon the paper, and I believe the courts have allowed that.
I would be (mildly) surprised the paper cared about the occasional send-up anyway.
But I see no humor in this.
If the layout or some other text was also altered, it would seem to be the sort of thing many publishers object to quite strongly.

Ball has always maintained a residence in Putnam Lake (for three years) and has lived there. He never sold his home. He hasn’t lived in his hometown of Pawling since he was 18, when he left to serve in the U.S. military. Anyone can check this info at the board of elections.

Do you guys think if you post and lie enough it will eventually become true? The local papers bashed Ball for over a year and he won with 70%+. He is sitting on over $200k and has favorables higher than anyone but Leibell and is neck and neck with him, and above when you compare on issues.
Maybe you can all hope the tooth fairy makes Ball, the only guy fighting the machine, disappear?
More Ball lies,
Ball was no where near Leibell in favorables in his district, Schumer, McCain and Obama have higher ratings then Ball in his own district. What you forgot to say is that Ball’s negatives are extremely high and he has many people disliking him and his actions.
The Pawling Republican Committee refused to endorse Ball. Keep in mind that this is Ball’s home town.
Now if only the Putnam County Committee’s would follow suit, Ball would have to get his own petitions signed.

The Truth says, “Ball is sitting on over $200,000.” Please show me the proof of Ball having anywhere near $200,000. The last time Ball claimed he reached his goal of $100,000. when the records were checked it revealed that he lent his campaign almost $40,000. to reach his goal and he had an outstanding balance due of $52,000., which left Ball with approximately $8,000. Ball is a fraud and everyone knows it.
Hopefully the Republican Committee in Putnam County will have the balls (pun intended) to not give Greg Ball the Republican line and allow a well rounded candidate to surface and represent the district.
Ball still has not answered the question about his military record as to why he was either released or why he departed early. Ball will have to answer this question prior to this next election cycle, Ball will not escape by running from this question, this question will get answered. The facts will come out.
Ball originally lived in a cabin type shack in Put Lake for a brief period and then when elected moved into girlfriends home. He did have the Put lake rented and maybe he has moved back in and also he had the put lake place listed last spring with real estate for 150,000. So…he could be anywhere and maybe back in his Grandmothers home in Pawling with Mom and Dad. Who cares where he lives? Maybe a tent in a park?
To poster about finances, show us how you come up with 200 grand? Maybe part of that is loan from grandmother as she recently refinanced her home for 100 grand.
Why would an Assemblyman be comparing himself to Leibell? Unless of course that’s his goal and that’s all he cares about, power and fame. I want a representitive in Albany, fighting for me. Not someone trying to build power for himself and only for himself. So, “THE TRUTH” is not really the truth, and that’s the truth. And to keep talking about that “70%” win is meaningless at this point. It may as well have been a lifetime ago. Nobody cares, and it has no bearing on what’s happening NOW.
The Pawling Republican Committee fully supports Ball and will be endorsing Ball this month.
