Time for Spano’s birthday gala – and fundraiser

April
29

Westchester County Executive Andrew Spano turned 72 earlier this month, which naturally means its time for the annual birthday bash/campaign fundraiser at the Rye Town Hilton.

This year’s event is slated for Wednesday evening and, as usual, expected to draw a crowd of more than 500 people to the hotel – usually mix of prominent Democratic Party activists, business officials (especially those with county contracts) and other Spano supporters.

Spano, who is in the middle of his third term, has already stated his intent to seek a fourth term in 2009.

So far, no Republicans have formally announced a candidacy against Spano. But Rob Astorino, who lost to the Yorktown Democrat in 2005, is expected to challenge him again.

”...business officials (especially those with county contracts)”

typical pay to play games that rob the taxpayers.

we need someone like rob astorino to step up to the plate and challenge andy spano. at 72 he must be getting dementia. either that or he’s just really dumb. how else could he expect the people of this county to re-elect him after all the shenanigans he’s pulled…

  2. Enough is Enough

Bill is right! The people of Westchester County have had enough. The Democrats gained their super-majority last year and have run roughshod over every single taxpayer. These politicians all need to be thrown out of office.

Rob Astorino is a perfect person for the job. He wants to do a good job for the people and ease their pain and suffering. He wants the job, he doesn’t need it. That’s the type of person who should be in public life; someone who has a successful career and is willing to lend their talent and dedication to help people.

Andy Spano, Bill Ryan and their ilk are in government to make money for themselves and their friends and to grow their own power. They all need a swift kick in the @ss!

Hardly anyone would argue with you about Andy Spano, Ryan and the rest. Pretty awful.

Will they play “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” at Democrat Spano’s party? At least there will be no shortage of donkeys in attendance.
