Assembly Republicans Getting Aggressive

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on May 02, 2008

The Republican Assembly Campaign Committee is becoming more aggressive in going after Democratic members of the state Assembly.

Its targets this week were Assemblyman Mike Spano, D-Yonkers, left, and Assemblyman David Koon, D-Perinton, shown on right.

RACC spokesman Adam Kramer ripped Spano for voting to block legislative measures to repeal the highway use tax and provide tax credits for employees who receive on-the-job-training.

And Kramer seized on comments made by Koon’s chief of staff in the Democrat and Chronicle that “Koon has been ‘an ally to reform down here (in Albany).’”

Kramer said, “The truth is David Koon just wants to spend, spend, spend our tax money like there’s no tomorrow because that’s what happens when he votes for tax increases and unfunded mandates. We just can’t afford any more of his taxpayer-funded shopping sprees.”

Democrats have commanding control of the Assembly, holding a 106-42 seat edge over Republicans.

Calls to the offices of Spano and Koon were not immediately returned.

I guess they just left Greg Ball alone because they realize he is a do nothing legislator with no clout?
