Westchester Legislator Tom Abinanti had a curious answer when asked about rumors that he’s considering a primary campaign against Assemblyman Richard Brodsky.
“I’ve had a lot of people ask me to run but I have no plans at this time to do anyhing,” said Abinanti, a Greenburgh Democrat.
Abinanti also said he plans to “sit back and see what happens.” He declined to comment further.

Abinanti would commit political suicide if he decided to primary Assemblyman Richard Brodsky. Brodsky is one of the strongest and most productive Assemblymen in NYS. I hope that Mr. Aninanti is simply day dreaming and he snaps out of his little fantasy.
He isn’t planing? That’s because someone else is using the plane.
As usual, Ed beat me to it with the “planing” correction.
Wouldn’t you love to see Mr. Brodsky’s 1040s?
How could Mr. Abinanti resist the opportunity to take this safe Dem (impenetrable majority) seat away from Brodsky, thus reaping its enormous dividends from part-time statehouse work—and full-time lawyering work.
George Washington Plunkitt is envious from his fictional grave.
in fact he is “deplaning” ...abinanti has always coveted
brodsky’s seat..and brodsky has always coveted county
executive..so let’s see what happens may mean brodsky
forgoes a run for his seat ( he has to be bored)
and challenge spano for county execuutive..that would
pave the way for abinanti….just a thought….otherwise
why the wait and see position…unless he simply thinks
richard is going to retire…
Anyone who sets out to make money, honestly or otherwise, from politics, and/or government, is a person of low moral character who should be shunned by honest citizens. In fact, they would be “stoned” by honest persons in other civilizations.
I am of the opinion that Tom would make an excellent Assembly person. He is smart, maybe at times too political but he has strayed from the Democats on the Board of Legislators when he felt they were wrong!!!!
Richard should be bored, there is no place for him to go.
Like every other politician Richard has been there too long and got too comfortable. As far as Richard going for CE, he will have to get a personality first.
I hope Richard retires out West to his ranch, He certainly will have more productive days out there.
“I have no plans at this time to do anyhing”
“sit back and see what happens.”
Figures. He’s been doing that for years on the County Board.
Re: Tim Hayes 2 sentences
Seldom has anything so patently true been so simply and soberly stated. It is so palpably obvious to anyone with even a passing knowledge of history that is is irrefutable.
