Clinton wins Kentucky; Obama wins Oregon

Posted by: Brian Tumulty - Posted in 2008, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, White House on May 20, 2008

There’s no debate the Democratic presidential primaries are drawing to a close, but there’s no universal agreement tonight on where the selection process stands.

Hillary Rodham Clinton beat Barack Obama in Kentucky by 35 percentage points, 65 percent to 30 percent, with 100 percent of precincts reporting. Clinton won the popular vote by almost 250,000 with 459,145 to Obama’s 209,771.

In Oregon, where polls closed at 11 p.m. eastern time, Obama was ahead of Clinton by 57 percent to 43 percent with 48 percent of precincts reporting.

Clinton delivered an early victory speech in Louisville, Ky. and plans to campaign Wednesday in Florida. Her campaign will continue at least through the June 3 end of the primaries.

Obama returned to Iowa—site of the nation’s first caucuses—to declare himself th winner of a majority of pledged delegates.

His calculus leaves out Michigan and Florida under the current rules of the Democratic Party for the upcoming convention in August.

Meanwhile, Clinton’s campaign announced tonight that it raised $22 million in April, marking its second best month of fundraising to date.

But Obama once again has raised much more. His campaign reported $31.3 million in donations last month, plus $600,000 in additional donations for the general election. His campaign started May with $37.3 million cash on hand to pay for the final batch of primaries.

There was no word from the Clinton campaign on how much cash they have on hand. Earlier tonight Terry McAuliffe, Clinton’s campaign manager, said there was no plan to repay the $11 million the New York senator has loaned her campaign nor has the campaign paid the money the millions it owes former chief strategist Mark Penn.

A Democrat boasting about winning a primary in Kentucky is like a Republican celebrating victory in DC. It means NIL.

Have you all heard that Hillary blamed “the Wall Street money lenders” for the recession, as a way of fanning the flames in Indiana? There is no bottom to her egotistical depravity.

The Yahoos out there roared when she demanded that “Wall Street money lenders should be held accountable for the recession”. Although it would seem incredible that a NY Senator would go to Indiana to blame Wall Street, nothing Hillary does surprises me.

However, her actions and words demand that she be impeached immediately as a NY senator. How do we start?

So why is Hillary more worthy of impeachment than Larry Craig?

Since when has Hillary actually been a NY Senator? She is an opportunist who used NY to further her own ambitions. She picked a state where she knew she would win.

But there is a karma factor…if she chose Illinois, where at least she had some roots, there would be no Obama now.

How’s it going with those 200,000 or whatever upstate NY jobs she promised back in 2000?

who are the “wall street money lenders”...the banks
    the mortgage companies…or “the jews”...because
it always comes down to that when you are sending
a message in the hartland..either the blacks or the
jews ..Hillary needs a good challenge right here
in new york next time around

I still like impeachment proceedings against Hillary. she clearly has no loyalty to NY, and her entire time in NY has been a sham to set up her presidential run.

She is what my daddy always called a “lying sack of s**t” and we should treat her that way.

Anybody know how I can try to start the impeachment process? What a great news story that would be right now!!!
