Fund Raiser For Late State Trooper
Friends and former Gov. George Pataki and wife, Libby, are holding a fund raiser in Albany for former State Trooper Gary Berwick, who took his own life last month amid a probe by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo into political corruption in the State Police.
Berwick, right, was close to Daniel Wiese, a former State Police investigator who at the center of Cuomo’s probe, and was close to former Gov. George Pataki, who spoke at Berwick’s funeral. Berwick, 48, of New Windsor, Orange County and a married father of three daughters, was expected to be interviewed in the investigation, but was not believed to have done anything wrong.
The fund-raiser will be held Wednesday, June 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Riverfront Bar & Grill, Corning Preserve, in Albany.
