Comments on: Spano heads to jail Tuesday

My boyfriend is in the county jail and is in this program. He has learned so much already from the program and enjoys it. He dreads the weekends because he is not able to learn more from this program. I think it is a great thing and can benefit more than just men in jail.

Does he care about the scandalous County Board? Does he care about the Mt Vernon Democratic morass? Does he care that our taxes are going through the roof and that he has done nothing but blame others instead of attacking the problem with the tools he has at hand? Does he care that the Medical Center is and has been an ill-run, bloated bureaucracy that needs continual tax-funded transfusions? Does he care that Playland, in addition to being unsafe, loses boatloads of taxpayer money every year? And this is just an opening to what could be a 10,000 word essay. If he cares, he is doing his caring very quietly. If you know his heart as well as you say, you must be either his priest or his cardiologist. Or, more likely, just another political operative bent on ideology at the expense of competent governance.

Say it how you want, my observation of Mr. Spano is he always trys to do the right thing for the people of Westchester County. I believe Mr. Spano evaluates the issues before him and makes his judgement based on what is best for the people of Westchester County. Mr. Spano is a rare breed of politician who actually cares about the people he represents.

On a serious note, Spano does care about the residents of Westchester County and he always does that right thing. I respect Mr. Spano’s sincerety to his job and community.
