Ed clearly likes to think he knows how the Capitol works. He doesn’t. This job was offered. (btw, how would someone from the Hudson Valley know Aubertine enough to have such a colorful description of who he is? sounds like a plant to me)

My opinion is that Aubertine is a self-serving prevaricator. No one is “offered” a job this way. You are asked as such: The governor has expressed interest in you relative to this or that job… “IF the governor were to appoint you, would you be interested in making this move?” Unless the gov and/or his aide, O’Byrne, are total incompetents, Aubertine is lying.
