  1. NO INTEREST

    BORING

So let’s see…you’d like to cut the state sales tax on gasoline, I’ll bet. “Give the little guy a break”.

Hmmm. How many people think that the “break” won’t be gobbled up by greedy Wall St. speculators, Big Oil companies, and the OPEC “allies” in the Middle East of George W. Bush?

In two weeks, the prices at the pump will be the same, and the state – with limited revenues – will have sent a big fat check to the aforementioned interests.

Republicans can’t face the facts – they’ve made a horrible mess of this, just like they messed up Katrina. If you hate government, and your base hates government, you’re not really committed to managing government very well.

President Kennedy jawboned the steel industry in 1962 to roll back a steel price hike. Has Bush even tried with the Oil companies? Hah. Fat Chance.

The more Republicans that are elected to the assembly the “Better”. they are the “YOUNG TURKS” who will help change the direction of the spenders in both houses.

But I will leave you with this If Obama becomes “Uncle Obama” he is going to raise the taxes on the “RICH”. That will mean a lot more money going to Washington. For some that is a good thing for me and others thats bad, But I guess those “Rich Elite Democ”rats” in Manhattan, who have weekend house upstate just have to much money. So Uncle Obama” will just take more from them and their ilk in Chicago, LA, San Fran etc,etc

Sorry, VJ—the true elitsits are the REPUBLICANS…they take care of the rich oil interests, the insurance companies and the pharamaceutical boys. They get us into an unneccessary war in iraq, and run it badly for four years.

The Young Turks are trying to make their bones in the Republican Party; they want in on the gravy train: legal work and contracts will follow when they get back in. Consider George Pataki who took care of his friends first and foremost for 12 years in Albany.

The Republicans talk a great talk, and they connect with the little guy – they won’t restrict your use of guns, and they connect with your feelings about gay marriage. They capture your anger on taxes, but they borrow and spend, and the bill is left in debt for future generations.

The more Republicans in the Assembly means more angry rhetoric, but no solutions. They will attack, attack, attack because it vents the frustration people feel. But they’re never going to care about your kid’s education – they want to deconstruct education; or your health care – you’re on your own buddy.

That’s why the Republicans – running Congress for 12 years turned the Contract on America into Tom DeLay’s K Street project, buddy-buddy with the lobbyist PAC-givers.

Reform will come from the Democrats—not the old hackneyed Democrats of the Clinton-era, but an earnest, smart tough new group. We don’t get pushed around by aggressive Republicans we push back.

  5. What are the solutions

What are the Democrat solutions. It seems like the “Young Republican Turks” running for the assembly from westchester are talking about the issues. Biagi, Pilla and Gouldman are putting the issues 1st. What are the Democrats in the assembly talking about?

  6. Democrat Assembly

The Democrat Assembly would like to keep the status quo.

  7. Ziggie

Here’s what Democrats want: tax breaks for middle class and the working class, not the rich; environmental protections to safeguard our future; energy policies that don’t primarily benefit the energy companies – but benefit the average user; affordable housing for people of modest means; quality education as a baseline for everyone, not just schools that cherrypick a few lucky kids, and leave the rest behind; healthcare that provides services to people and not profits for the HMOs and insurance companies. Want me to go on?

The REPUBLICANS are the party of stale ideas. What happened the 12 years Pataki ruled, and you owned the Senate? What line item veto did he use and the Senate sustain to “cut spending” or “cut taxes”? What govt departments did he merge or eliminate? What state spending did he eliminate? The Young Republican Turks of 2008 are saying the same things the Young Republican Turks of 1994 said – tough on crime, lower taxes. What did they DO in 1994 when they won? Feed their lobbyist buddies from State St. in Albany to K Street in Washington.

So what will Pilla, Gouldman and Biagi DO? They’ll do what they’re told to do by the NY equivalents of Karl Rove – attack the Democrats, and benefit Big Business.

It says he will announce his candadacy at 11:15 at the Mobil Gas Station. But it does not specify a date. I think Biage needs to get rid of his Press Secretary… LOL

  9. 1994

Ziggie – you talk about what the young republican turks did in 1994. That is old news you are talking about 14 years ago.

Lets see what Spitzer did just just afew months ago.

Lets see what Silver has done over the last several years.

You must start talking about today, not ancient history.

  10. Task Force

THANK GOD we have Greg Ball protecting us.
