Energy efficiency in Cold Spring

July
3

U.S. Rep. John Hall, D-Dover Plains, plans to spend Monday morning helping to install a geothermal system at a new environmentally sustainable housing development in Cold Spring.

Contractors from Altren Renewable Energy are doing the heavy lifting at Glassbury Court along Route 9 in Cold Spring. The geothermal systems use the ground’s relatively constant temperature to provide heating, cooling and hot water to homes. They can eliminate the need for oil and natural gas heat in the winter and also reduce electricity costs from air conditioning in the summer.

Hall’s participation is part of his initiative to spend time with working people in the Hudson Valley.

Wow, great news! The geothermal system will be a great step to help Cold Spring with energy management and also help save natural resources.

Okay, fellow Republicans: HATE ME. I live in the 18th CD, that of the graybeard Nita Lowey.

I liked former Congresswoman Sue Kelly, up the line from me, in the 19th, a lot.

Why, in the 19th CD, did the centrists elect such a good guy as John Hall?

I’ve been looking for some things that could be wrong about this guy for more than a year, and I can’t find nothing. I’m feeling like the FBI guys who investigated Brendan Byrne when he was a judge in New Jersey, and said that he was “incorruptible.” That’s why NJ named the Brendan Byrne Arena for him, after he was elected governor there twice.

    Now: I like Kieran Crowley.

But, for the record: unfortunately, there’s no dirt on Mr. Hall.

I wish I could have found some, but, unfortunately, Congressman Hall is clean. Further for our misfortune, this guy is ethical. I hate that! ;>

And I’m still humming that g-d song in my head every day, from when I was in college.

    lol!

I’m only 17 and I helped install this system as a volunteer , and it was my first journey with altren. The technology is far superior to anything that people are using to heat there houses now a days. The system is easy to install and can cut gas prices for you and your family pretty favorably and is eco friendly. All we need to do as citizens , is open our minds to bigger and better ways of dealing with the energy crisis and this does just that, its a very interesting breakthrough and hopefully this will encourage more people to be part of the change over to geothermal systems
