Paterson To Run In 15k Utica Road Race

July
7

Despite recent eye surgeries, Gov. David Paterson plans to run Sunday in The Boilermaker 15K Road Race in Utica.

Paterson, who is legally blind, has talked about running in the race for months, but became unsure after recent bouts with glaucoma in his eyes.

Yet aides said Paterson plans to run the race. And it may be no sweat for Paterson because he ran in the 1999 New York City Marathon.

And if Paterson runs, he’ll have another bragging point over his predecessor, Eliot Spitzer.

Spitzer ran the 5K while campaigning for governor in 2006 and did it again in 2007 after being elected.
