Spitzer Giving Back His Money

July
9

It appears Eliot Spitzer is making good on refunding money to his campaign contributors. The wonderfully tech-savvy Bill Mahoney at NYPIRG says that early campaign filings shows that at least one group has gotten money back from Spitzer.

The Chain Pharmacy Association PAC ($1,000) and Democratic Rural Conference of New York State ($5,000) received checks from Spitzer 2010, Mahoney found.

The CPA PAC check matches a contribution they made to him last year, and thus appears to be a refund, he said. Though it’s unclear whether the check to the Democratic Rural Conference is a refund or a contribution.

Another filing of note: Sen. Thomas Morahan, R-New City, Rockland County, raised $41K, spent $28K, has $420K in the bank.
