Westchester board OKs building purchase
The Westchester County Board of Legislators last night finally approved the purchase of 450 Saw Mill River Road in Greenburgh, a vacant warehouse that will be converted into space to store the county’s voting machines as well as a new public safety headquarters.
The vote was 12-4 in favor of aquiring the building. The purchase of the building – owned by a major Democratic donor – has been under consideration for well over a year, but the plans for its use have varied as the Spano administration has worked to find a way to seal the deal.
