The National Gay Tax Protest is growing exponentially every single day.

It is criminal how LGBT familes, with and without children, have to "wait patiently" for the SAME legal protections that are handed out LIKE CANDY to heterosexuals. For many in the LGBT community, we have lost all patience with both voters and politicians when it comes to JUSTICE and COMMON DECENCY concerning our families, so we are doing what we CAN do - withholding tax until we are treated EQUALLY. Those interested in joining this fight can GOOGLE "Gay Tax Protest" to find out about my own protest, and find links to others.

Well, since I am still on WELFARE I guess I do not owe any tax dollars right now, but I cannot imagine paying a dime if and when I am able to work.

Speaking of RIDICULOUS - re: the analogy to health care above. The government is not preventing anyone from access to health care, but it is preventing all LGTB citizens from having legal access to civil marriage.

the above is the most ridiculous anti tax argument i have
ever heard..you work you pay taxes...the rest is another
matter....you work you don't pay taxes..you go to jail
whether or not you get special treatment because of your
sexual orientation is not related to your obligation
to pay income taxes....I could make the same argument
about lots of things.health care for instance
if I am sick and the government doesn't pay..why
should I pay taxes..

It is immoral and unjust to expect gays and lesbians to pay taxes to a government that denies our families civil marriage. Period.

Marriage Inequality hurts families. It hurts children. It hurts grandparents. It hurts communities.

The GLTB comminuty does not exist in a vacuum. We are integrated into schools, churches, local politics, nursing homes, etc., etc. When OUR families suffer due to Marriage Inequality, YOU (heterosexuals) also suffer, socially and financially.

Watch "Freeheld" or "Tying the Knot"; if you still want to deny gays civil marriage, go right ahead, but do NOT expect myself or ANY other gay person to pay taxes to a society that treats us as "less than human".

By all means, let's keep discrimination in New York alive and well even if it comes at the expense of tax payers. This flies in the face of the tradition of New York to recognize marriage performed in other states and countries. It would seem to me that if New York doesn't want to recognize other state's contracts or other countries' contracts, then they shouldn't have to recognize New York's. Let's see how much the business world likes it when New York state contracts are not recognized in other places.
