Two minor-party candidates challenge Pretlow

July
22

Though veteran Assemblyman Gary Pretlow, D-Mount Vernon, faces no opposition on the Republican line in his re-election bid in the 87 Assembly District, two challengers have filed petitions to battle him on the Working Family and the Conservative lines this November.

Ernest Darko Boaten, a 27-year-old Mount Vernon native who lives in Yonkers, filed petitions for the Working Family line. Boaten says he left his job in data analysis with Morgan Stanley in April to run for the post. In his announcement, Boaten said he wants to roll back the strict Rockefeller drug laws, saying they are racially biased, outdated and unfair, and also to educate the public, especially students, about the importance of local politics. The Conservative Party challenger for Pretlow, who also has the Independence Party line, is Ralph Pearson.

    Another empty suit.

  2. Mount Vernon Conservative Party

One correction to this story. Gary Pretlow is the IP assembly candidate. Ralph Pearson is the CONSERVATIVE candidate in 87th AD. Ralph is running with Rosmary Jarosz who is the CONSERVATIVE candidate for Mount Vernon Council. Both Candidates are on Row D and offer an alternative for the people of the 87th AD. There are no GOP candidates for these seats.

Politicians are so crooked. How can we trust these people? Here in Westchester County, we have a corrupt District Attorney, Janet Difiore, who with the help of a Manhattan assistant district Attorney engaged in an unlawful investigation to try to intimidate her critics. We must rid our county of this filth.
