An office is just an office unless

Depending on who you may be supporting in the race for the 99th Assembly District (in case you’ve forgotten, that’s Assemblyman Greg Ball, R-Patterson, facing a challenge from Republican John Degnan), the opening of a campaign office this week may be subject to some interpretation.
The campaign office in question was opened by Degnan. If you’re backing Degnan, the office (Mahopac at 609 Route 6 – just west of the Route 6, 6N split) is just an office. Following is the entire announcement sent out by the Degnan campaign.
“John Degnan, Republican candidate for the New York State Assembly in the 99th Assembly District, opened his official campaign headquarters in Mahopac to great fanfare. More than 50 people attended to cheer John’s campaign of inclusion. Degnan continues to attract enthusiastic support across the political spectrum.”
But if you’re supporting Ball, like the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee, it was a chance to report that Degnan is “in cahoots” with the local Democrats. That’s a reference to his being endorsed by the Democrats.
RACC spokesman Adam Kramer also sent out a photo of the grand opening, which looks like a copy of the one similar to one Degnan’s campaign posted on the Internet distributed by email earlier this week. The photo, Kramer said, shows Degnan “consorting and conspiring with Democrat Party Bosses who are throwing their muscle and cash behind the failed, former Brewster Mayor.â€
(Update: The photo sent out by Kramer, though, looks just like one on the PlanPutnam Web site as Jeff Green, the man behind PlanPutnam and its content just pointed out.
“It was pulled from my website at PlanPutnam, here. It’s the second one down. And, if you match up the exif data you’ll see they were shot with the same camera. Mine. There was only one other photographer at the event and he was not using the same camera I was.
Mr. Kramer may have “sent out” the image but he did so without proper attribution which is a violation of my copyright. Just because something is on the ‘net does not make it free for the taking. As you know, in my daily column, every article quoted is credited and linked back to the original. Fair use dictates this and it’s what we’ve come to agree upon as a community to keep things running smoothly.)
See the entire RACC press release after the break. Here’s an earlier post on the race, explaining some of RACC’s references.

REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY
CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE

CAUGHT ON TAPE:
DEMOCRAT PARTY BOSSES AIDING AND ABETTING JOHN DEGNAN
Startling new photo from Degnan’s open house proves that Democrat operatives are conspiring with former Brewster Mayor in primary against Assemblyman Greg Ball
A shocking new photo (attached) taken yesterday at former Brewster Mayor John Degnan’s campaign open house clearly shows Democrat Party Bosses Lynne Eckhardt (Chair of Putnam County Democrats) and Katherine O’Connor (Chair of Carmel Democrats) in cahoots with the candidate who is running a Republican primary against Assemblyman Greg Ball for the 99th Assembly District seat (Westchester and Putnam Counties).
It was revealed a few weeks ago that Degnan is soliciting and receiving direct financial assistance from County Democrat political bosses who are hosting fundraisers for his campaign. Last month, Degnan proudly accepted the support of a left-wing extremist group.
“This has been a very bad week for John Degnan,†said Adam D. Kramer, Spokesman for the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee. “First, Degnan was caught red-handed on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t77Gh_Cn6H4&feature=related) in a despicable lie about Assemblyman Ball’s military record and now he has again been caught on tape this time consorting and conspiring with Democrat Party Bosses who are throwing their muscle and cash behind the failed, former Brewster Mayor.â€
“It’s bad enough that John Degnan is running from his terrible record of making Brewster a safe haven for illegal aliens, opposing the Second Amendment, circumventing State Civil Service law, and silencing whistleblowers,†said Kramer. “Now, with the tacit wink and nod from Democrat Party Bosses, Degnan is continuing a McCarthy-esque dirty campaign of malicious slander to tarnish Greg Ball’s reputation and military service to our country.â€
“John Degnan should be ashamed of himself for personally conducting such a negative, nasty and mean spirited campaign based upon a foundation of lies and hate speech,†said Kramer.
“To paraphrase a question that was asked of U.S. Senator Joe McCarthy during one of his infamous witch hunt hearings in the early 1950s: Mr. Degnan, have you no decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?†asked Kramer.

This is disgusting, you try to do things Bi-Partisan in a small town and you get slapped for it. Ball should worry about all of the residents of the 99th District, not just the Republicans.
What I find most interesting is the Journal News didn’t deem the opening of John Degnan’s campaign office newsworthy until Greg Ball and the flunkies at RACC disparaged it. Second, it goes to show that RACC is desparate to keep this seat so they don’t go even further down into the Minority, that they will try to tear down a Registered Republican who just happens to enjoy bi-partisan support. I hope when John Degnan wins, that RACC is forced to grovel to the point of humiliation to ensure that he caucuses with them.
Ball WANTED the democratic support when he ran the first time. So what’s the difference if someone else has the support that Ball may have wanted?
Fellow republicans like myself are, for the first time, really upset with our country’s Republican leader and this will have a trickle down effect in local elections.
Many people will out-step their registered party and vote for the best person for the job whether it be in Federal/State or Local elections.
Degnan and his supporters are truly pathetic. They will stop at nothing to smear Greg Ball’s name and service.
Being bi-partisan is one thing, but taking advice from Democrat Party Bosses and known operatives is just awful.
Greg Ball is a fraud, Greg Ball is supposed to be representing all voters but he clearly indicates that he is about partisan politics. Greg Ball’s guy Michael Rights just pleaded guilty to another DWI charge to try and make the issue go away before it haunts Greg Ball. Everyone knows Ball and Rights are tied together at the hips. I thought Rights said, “The Old Guard set me upâ€? What happen to that theory? Now Rights pleas guilty, do you know why? He pleaded guilty because Greg Ball wants him to put this issue to rest immediately, Ball knows that people understand that Rights is Ball’s guy and they are a team. Ball has not commented on this issue, I wonder why? If Ball believes “Illegal is Illegal” then he should denounce the actions of Right and ask for him to resign. Ball is the biggest fraud, the “Illegal is Illegal” only applies when he wants to use it to fit his argument. But when “Illegal is Illegal” applies to his friends he ignores it. Ball supports Michael Rights and does not think his drinking and driving is a problem.
Ball and now Adam Kramer along with the RACC make me regret being a Republican. They’re running scared that so many people are banding together to unseat him. He’s been horrible for our district and everybody knows it. As jb points out, just look at the Town of Southeast. Ball basically put Rights in office. Would you rather surround yourself with a Democrat or someone with two DWI’s in 13 months? It speaks for his judgement.
Abe, you’re kidding right? Ball, Rights, Yee, Neuringer and Mangieri (you’re probably one of them) are the KINGS of smear. Remember 10 of 12 things said were ruled untrue. I have to admit, I’m getting a little tired of the service stuff, but isn’t Ball on about his 7th different story about it? Why doesn’t he try just sticking with one.
Greg Ball is 100% responsible for Michael Rights and the town of Southeast is paying the price for Greg Ball pushing Michael Righs on the residents of Sotheast.
Greg Ball is the sneakest, underminding, gutter-ball playing person that I have ever seen in politics in this area.
Mr. Degnan’s broad support among at least three strong individual parties is a testament to his ability to include varying viewpoints.
Ball was a Conservative before entering the Republican primary in 2006. He never would have made it as a Conservative so he bit the bullet and joined the ranks of repugnant Republicans (his words) in order to win…win…win.
At the same time he sought out the Democratic Party endorsement, recently he sought support from the National Organization of Women (NOW) and he still panders to every potential political force whether it be liberal, conservative, independent, or fringe. Point being that most informed voters are well aware of his lack of conviction, lack of principles, and lack of character.
His demise in Putnam County Republican politics was quick but not quick enough as he is the current incumbent. One hopes and prays that his incumbency will end soon and we can bring sanity back to the 99th.
Vote Degnan!
Disregard for the truth seems to be a theme of Ball and RACC.
Ball deliberately misused a photo and labeled it Degnan which was not John Degnan. Continuing to this day to make photocopies of the mail piece “in order to use up thousands of dollars spent.” Gee, is a photocopy part of the original order?
RACC uses Jeff Green’s pictures without his permission too. Want to bet it was Ball’s campaign who ripped off the images?
Liars and thieves, lawbreakers not lawmakers, common criminals in office. One would think we live in New Orleans! Dump Ball now!
Did the NOW organization support Ball?
Yes, the Putnam County Democratic Chairperson is to John’s right but standing to John’s left is Willis Stephen’s Sr and you can’t get more Republican than that around here! Oh, that’s right. He’s the Old Guard and they don’t count anymore according to Greg Ball.
The same day this picture and press release come out, Michael Rights chooses to address Lynne Eckardt at the Southeast Town Board meeting as “Democratic Chairwoman”. Interesting coincidence or Ball and Rights hand in hand?
By the way, that same Democratic Chairwoman is the one that Ball was begging for an endorsement from. I guess if he got what he wanted, it would be OK to stand next to her.
Just sickening!
NOW most definitely did not endorse Ball. They have officially endorsed John Degan even though he is pro-life. They believe that Degan’s integrity and ethics, his support of human rights and people’s dignity, his ability to accomplish great things within the law, his bi-partisan approach to what is best for his constituents makes him the best person for the job.
Starting a race in May is just too late these days. There are only six weeks to go before the election and they’re just opening up a campaign office against a well-funded incumbent who tookout another incumbent whose family had been in power forever. I’m not feeling confident that Ball is seriously threatened (at least in the primary) at this point. Will DACC get Degnan some extra $$$ like they did for Harper? If so then we have a chance.
Until recently Ball’s website had a picture of him hugging Spitzer. What’s Kramer say of Ball’s pandering to the Democratic Gov. when he thought he could ride on those coat tails?
A note to Republicans: you have two GOP candidates running for the same office. Now the only decision you need to make is will you support the person who will do what’s best and honest, or re-elect a dishonest, unethical, egotistical, evil person who has proven himself incapable of accomplishing anything for his district?
Also pictured in this photo (in addition to Lynne Eckardt, the Putnam County Dem chair) is, from LTR, Barbara Reitz, a Republican and wife of Putnam County Court Judge James Reitz; Carmine DiBattista, a Republican and Town of Carmel councilman; Rick Stockburger, a Republican and husband of Brewster Trustee Terri Stockburger; Will Stephens, Sr., a Republican, former Member of the New York State Assembly and father of former Assemblyman Will Stephens, Jr. and Art Hanley, a Conservative Party member.
I’d say John Degnan has quite the bi-partisan, and judging from this picture – Republican support…
Good to hear the NOW Organization DOES NOT support Ball !!!
Glad to read the Degnan is supported by locals of both parties.
Integrity – to answer your question about the pic of Ball with our disgraced former Gov and what RACC would think about it – that picture was taken after the Gov addressed the entire Assembly Republican Conference. Other Assembly GOP members also have a similar pic in their files as well. I’m sure they are trying as hard as Ball to destroy them and pretend they never existed. RACC will do whatever it takes to hang on to Ball’s seat. They are so far in the Minority, if they lose more seats, they will just continue to be even more of an inconsequential conference as well as the smallest minority in the history of the Assembly. Shelly Silver even says that he can’t handle any more members in the Democrat Majority. THAT is how pathetic the Assembly GOP is. And THAT is why they are defending Ball so fiercely.
maybe the jerk incumbent from the 99th AD will decorate degnan’s new office like he did his own. hoping he chooses a different spray paint color and has learned how to spell.
the stench from the incumbent and his minions is overwhelming but then again it is the choice between two republicans which means you get nothing no matter what. a 2 to 1 democratic majority in the assembly nullifies a republican rep whether they stink or do not stink.
7 Curse: I think Degnan has already proven that he has support from all sides. He’ll be 1000 times better than Ball at working together in the Assembly.
Apparently Greg Ball learned nothing about being a leader in his limited time in the armed services. John Degnan may not have served in the military but has shown that his leadership abilities and the ability to work with different people and different groups.
Greg Ball believes in the tear it down, rip it apart, lie, misconstrue and do anything you can to hurt people as long as he believes at the end of the day somehow it reflects positive on him.
John Degnan on the other hand has clearly shown that he wants to work with all people, all organizations and all political parties to bring pride and integrity back to the 99th Assembly District. I have had the opportunity to go door to door with John Degnan and I can tell you first hand he has respect for all the voters in the district. John listens to all sides of an argument before he commits to a position, John does not take a poll and then go with the hot topic of the day. I hear John Degnan talking about the need for a state energy policy, achieving economic security for our citizens and real property tax reform. As John goes door to door he hears the concern of the residents who are not sure how they are going to pay for their oil bill this upcoming winter, John hears from the residents about their concerns for gas prices and property taxes. John also hears from residents who are concerned with affordable health insurance and John listens and takes it all in and commits that he will get to work immediately once he is elected our Assemblyman in the 99th Assembly District.
John Degnan is truly a people person and he will bring back the pride in the 99th Assembly District.
Seems to me that anyone who has support from both sides offers little of value to either one.
is greg ball attacking bi-partisan support? does that mean he doesn’t want democrats or independents to vote for him?
what exactly is the point here, mr. kramer?
john degnan is not afraid of his cross endorsement from the democrats or his 2 to 1 endorsement from the putnam republicans. it’s a long way between the 99th district and albany and somewhere along the line, racc started to believe that greg ball is actually popular in his own backyard… ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…
Be interesting this fall when Degnan wins and Ball has to return to the work force….what will he do?
PEOPLE HAVE TRIED HARD TO FIND OUT ANYTHING ABOUT THIS SHELL COMPANY, EXCEED DEVELOPMENT. IT DOESN’T EXIST, JUST LIKE GREG BALL’S DD214. WHY WON’T GREG BALL RELEASE HIS DD214? BECAUSE HE’S EMBARASSED ABOUT THE TRUTH OF HIS MILITARY SERVICE. GREG BALL IS A FAILED FORMER AIR FORCE OFFICER. THAT PHRASE FITS WELL. FAILED FORNER AIR FORCE OFFICER, WITH NO CHANCE OF BEING CALLED TO DUTY IN IRAQ. HE WASTED TAXPAYER MONEY ACCEPTING HIS FREE SCHOLARSHIP AT THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY. WE GOT NOTHING IN RETURN. GREG BALL’S MILITARY SERVICE RECORD IS PATHETIC, ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC.
ROBERT BUCKLEY,
JOHN DEGNAN DOESN’T HAVE TO SERVE IN THE MILITARY TO BE A FINE LEADER. BUT GREG BALL USES THE AIR FORCE AS A FOUNDATION FOR HIS POLITICAL PERSONA, SO WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO QUESTION IT AND NOT JUST TAKE BALL’S WORD FOR IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT’S BEEN PROVEN OVER AND OVER THAT GREG BALL IS A LIAR.
WHY WON’T GREG BALL RELEASE HIS DD214?
WHAT ARE YOU HIDING, GREG BALL? A PATHETIC SERVICE RECORD?
IAMJANE: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BALL HAVING THIS PHOTO WITH SPITZER AND THE OTHER REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY MEMBERS IS THAT PUTNAM COUNTY’S FAILED FORMER AIR FORCE OFFICER WAS THE ONLY ONE, THE ONLY ONE, TO GET U ON THE FLOOR AND PUBLICLY PRAISE AND SIDE WITH SPITZER. THAT GOES WELL BEYOND A PICTURE.
Interesting that Vinnie Leibell is giving away $52K to folks running against Greg Ball and his crew. Most has gone to Degnan. What does it say to you when someone as well-respected as Leibell goes against some of his own party’s candidates?
Strory here on lohud…
http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008807260364
Me, I’m glad I live in western Putnam, so I don’t have to deal with Ball’s shenanigans.
Ball still got more votes then Leibell in 2006 within the 99th district, so we’re not out of the woods yet. Looks like Leibell gave 80k, not sure where they got that 52k number from.
Ball needs to do a mea culpa with vinny and get things
straightened out..no need to antagonize a long term
very popular republican who has a constuency of his
own overlapping ball’s district…and there is no
need for a war between the two…I could see the possibility
of people being turned of by ball if he doesn’t try to
mend the poltical fence and not show up…in the general
“Mea culpa” with Vinnie? Ball would need a lobotomy before Vinnie would support the likes of Ball. People are not just “turned off” by Ball. They are disgusted that such slime has spread over our district, has demeaned our town and village with their spreading of hatred and fear and made Putnam Co. the dysfunctional laughing stock of the east coast. He has destroyed property values here and has saddled our community with 4 years with a drunkard at the helm of our local government.
FYI, Vinnie Leibell was named man of the Year by the Westchester Irish American Club. At last year’s dinner, we had 350 attendees. This year, 40. Most of the club members were angry at Leibell’s actions (not me obviously, I was there)
I understand the opportunists here, Ball is a freshman, its a Democratic trending year, he’s taken on the establishment, but these anonymous mailers, the bullying etc. against Ball and his supporters is started to turn him into a victim. Degnan has lost two elections in a row and if he continues the character based attacks instead of issues based attacks, he’s not going to win.
I heard a story from another member of the Irish American Club. I confirmed it on YouTube. The very first question during the debate was about the taxpayer funded abortion bill, the largest abortion bill in U.S. history—when Degnan was asked about it, he said that “he was not familiar with this bill”. Anyone running for the State Assembly should at least know what it is.
Ball is clearly strong on the issues, Degnan seems unpolished. Leibell’s actions and the anonymous attacks on Ball don’t really bother me, but they bothered the rest of the Irish-American club.
This is just my two cents. I’m a registered Republican nurse who will not be voting in the primary.
That debate was put on by Ball ONLY and not a regular debate. It was run terribly and hopefully there will be others that are done properly.
Ha…Ball attend any Irish Club celebrations? Ball Irish??? haha.
Greg Ball is a coward, he attacks people he thinks are weak and will be intimidated by his nasty personality and tactics. Unfortunately for Greg, this time around he is facing a man of conviction and a person who will stand up and go toe to toe with him and call him on all his lies. Greg Ball is in trouble and John Degnan clearly has the momentum and the desire to be our next Assemblyman.
As far as money is concerned, it will come in from many places from people who simply hate the politics of Greg Ball and want better for the 99th Assembly District.
It’s well known that I am no Ball supporter, but that debate was not hosted by Ball, it was hosted by the Respect Life Society of Putnam County. Telling right to life people that their event was done “Terribly” is not very nice, also, I noted an article in the Putnam Press which attacked some of the event goers personally (including an 86 year old). “A hibernian” has a great point, Ball is going to end up looking like the victim in all of this. I received an email today that “Thetruthaboutgregball.com” has been sending fake letters out using names signed under the names of committee members who support Ball and deny ever writing the letters—what gives? Do we have to impersonate people and attack voters to win this? Can’t one candidate at least try and run a clean race? These people are NOT helping John.
Re:
I’ll give you that it was not “officialy” held by Ball, but it’s a fine line. The priest is pictured at every one of Ball’s events. They handed out flyers for it at Church with Ball’s name first a bunch in the middle and Degnan’s last. The panel! LMAO… it’s a crew that’s at all of Ball’s events. It was far from fair. It was probably the most biased event I’ve ever been to.
Somers Republican,
What do you mean “return to work”?
I don’t think he’s never worked a day in his life.
Do you mean being appointed a Vice President by a buddy at a company that nobody can tell even exists?
A hibernian,
The bullying is much worse going the other way. Need I remind you that 10 of 12 things that Ball said about Degnan were ruled untrue?
Walt Trombone:
You’re absolutely wrong. Senator Leibell is not ging against the choice of his own party, as you claim. John Degnan has been overwhelmingly endorsed 97-7 by the Republican Committee in Putnam County, regardless of proxies controlled by scannapieco. Take away those proxies, and it’s 97-7, so Senator Leibell is simply showing support for an endorsed candidate from his own party.
The Consultant:
Ball should do a mea culpa? Let’s see. Ball should start off by going back into the Air Force to complete his active duty committment which he abandoned, and spend the last 2 years of his commitment in Iraq. That would be a good start, and it would show Vinny that Ball is serious. Anything less than that is a Ball smokescreen
A Hibernian,
Your name should be more like A Hybernator, ecause that’s where it appears you’ve been. “Ball is taking on the establishment”? Oh really? Is that another way of saying that the immature Greg Ball can’t get along with and work with others? That he’s too selfish? That he has to be the center of attention at all times? “Taking on the establishment” my rear end.
“Ball is strong on the issues”? Is this another way of saying that Ball has been practicing politcs for 15 years? Even when he was in the Air Force Academy he was running scams like the Courage Cup. “Ball is strong on the issues”? He B.S.’s well, that’s for sure, but that’s a big difference from knowing the issues.
How about some facts instead of 0ne-liners? Oh yeah, I reached out the AOH in WESTCHESTER. Your story is complete nonsense.
ANYONE WHO NEEDS TO KNOW, THIS LAST DEBATE AT THE RESPECT LIFE SOCIETY AT SACRED HEART CHURCH? WELL YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THE ENTIRE BOARD OF THAT GROUP ARE GREG BALL FANATICS. THEY ARE EVEN SEEN ON HIS WEBSITE ATTEDNING HIS FUNDRAISERS. DOES THIS SOUND NON-PARTISAN TO YOU? THEN BALL HAD A BUNCH OF GOONS IN THE CROWD TO SHOUT OBSCENTITIES AT DEGNAN. REAL CLASS. AIR FORCE ACADEMY GRADUATE. I BECOME NAUSEOUS JUST THINKING THAT THIS IS WHAT THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY IS PRODUCING. TRASH LIKE THIS.
RE: “TELLING RIGHT TO LIFE PEOPLE THEIR EVENT WAS DONE TERRIBLE IS NOT VERY NICE”? HUH? AM I MISSING SOMETHING?
IT’S OBVIOUS YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO THESE PEOPLE REALLY ARE. EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE RESPECT TO LIFE SOCIETY BOARD AT SACRED HEART CHURCH IS A GREG BALL FANATIC WHO ATTENDS EACH ONE OF HIS $100 PER HEAD FUNDRAISERS. THEIR FACES ARE RIGHT ON BALL’S WEBSITE. LOOK AT HIS WEBSITE, UNDER FUNDRAISER PICTURES. LOOK AT THE GUY WHO LOOKS LIKE SANTA CLAUS. HE RUNS THAT ORGANIZATION AND FOUNDED IT. AND HE IS RIGHT THERE AT GREG BALL’S FUNDRAISER.
FOR THEM TO CLAIM THEIR EVENT WAS NON-PARTISAN “IS NOT VERY NICE”, EITHER. THIS EVENT WAS RUN TERRIBLY, DISGRACEFULLY, DISHONESTLY, AND DISINGENUOUSLY. HOW’S THAT?
LOOK UP EXCEED DEVELOPMENT ON GOOGLE, THEN CHECK OUT IT’S WEBSIE. IT LISTS “BREWSTER REDEVELOPMENT” AS ONE OF IT’S COMPLETED PROJECTS.
BALL’S ONLY INTEREST IS TO MAKE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR HIMSELF. ALL YOU BALL-BAGS GOT LIED TO AND USED. SUCKERS.
If Ball has to return to the ‘regular’ work force, what is his area of expertise? What is he qualified to do? Just curious?
HAHAHA…you ask what kind of work Ball is quallified to do???? Not that of a NY State Assemblyman…for sure !
Anyone know what specific educational training he has for a job??? HA HA HA
Somers Republican,
I would bet with his million dollar education as a Protocol Officer, he could make a good wedding planner. Actually, since he has no real work experience, he might need to start smaller. I would bet he could get a job at Fun Station bringing pitchers of soda to the kids at the birthday parties.
It’s official. Greg Ball is out of money.
He doesn’t have any cash to send out mail. He’s resorted to using annoying robo-calls to get his message out.
His campaign office on Rt. 6 looks like a ghost town.
And the most powerful politician in the region just came out this morning against his candidacy.
That’s it. Ball is finished.
Where is campaign office on Rt. 6? Is that the same place that SOS used for their campaign? Didn’t Rights pay for that?
Balls State paid for office is in new location on Rt.6, but is he using that for campaign as well as that would be illegal? Yes?
Liebell is a smart man and it’s good he is speaking out.
If Ball can not afford stamps, aren’t robo calls expensive also?
Is there a way for people to be REMOVED from this Robo call list Ball has?
do you enjoy writing to and answering yourself rob?
where is ball’s campaign office. the assembly web page lists his state office as 2392 route 6 in brewster. if this is also his campaign office that would most certainly be illegal. don’t put it past ball though, he doesn’t care about the law.
p.s. that robo call was a real crock. something about an election alert and then more lies from ball. same lies that he was slapped with by the league of women voters. ball is taking advantage. he thinks we’re all a bunch of dopes. sorry, he’s the only dopey one out there. we’re smart enough so see through his games.
Robert Buckley does not post anonymously. Greg Ball and his minions just can’t process that so many people are opposed to them not just Buckley. So keep thinking it’s just one poster on here. It’s not. Plenty of people are learning the truth about Ball and they don’t like what they’re learning. No wonder Ball is groveling for cash. Pathetic.
where is greg ball living? is he still in the 99th district? he owns a place in putnam lake but neighbors say he’s never there. is he at home? did he find another sap to take him in and pay all his bills? where is the failed state assemblyman physically residing?
why is he never at his office? repeated calls are never answered and messages are never returned. where is the failed state assemblyman? he’s missing. no one has seen him since friday. he disappears for days at a time. where does he go?
wrong rob, rob. you know. stop it! you’re breaking the fourth wall!

Leibell attacks Greg Ball
CARMEL – Charging that he was “sick of Mr. Ball’s crap,†State Senator Vincent Leibell of Putnam County has brutally attacked his fellow GOP lawmaker Assemblyman Gregory Ball for allegedly attempting to “trash†a county that he has spent years trying to build up.
In an interview in Patterson, Leibell who is running unopposed this fall after serving for nearly 30 years in the State Legislature, said he was appalled with Ball’s tactics.
“The Town of Southeast and the Village of Brewster are two beautiful communities that I have had the good fortune to represent for many years. I have worked hard to build them up as I have done to other towns and villages throughout the Hudson Valley and will lend support to candidates, community organizations and causes that will enhance communities not tear them apart. It is the easiest thing in the world to light a match and burn something down. It takes a lot more effort, work and conviction to construct something positively. This is what Vinny Leibell is about—building places up,†the senator said.
Leibell said in order to “make the playing field level,†he had donated $52,500 of his campaign war chest to the Southeast Republican Town Committee earmarked for the “support of candidates and causes that will enhance Southeast and Brewster.â€
Leibell promised to continue making donations from his campaign fund so that “candidates like John Degnan will have sufficient contributions to combat monies coming from outside New York State.â€
Degnan, Brewster’s former mayor is in the midst of a heated campaign against Ball for the 99th District Assembly seat.
Leibell charged that Ball’s claim to fame was “attention getting. The man is known in Albany for his bizarre conduct. He doesn’t get along with anyone associated with any party. If Greg Ball doesn’t talk about illegal immigrants he would be talking about aliens from Mars and attempting to frighten everyone through that tactic.â€
Ball, meanwhile, called himself an “outsider and a maverick who is shaking up the system. Mr. Leibell is ‘Mr. Insider’ and for 30 years has run Putnam County for his own benefit. I promised the people from Day One that I would go to Albany and fight the system. Unfortunately, Senator Leibell and many others like him are part of the problem.â€
Ball alleged that Leibell was “taking cheap political shots†at him. “Mr. Leibell has never been questioned. He has used our county as his political piggy bank. I am working for our veterans as well as closing a loophole dealing with human trafficking and my tax cap bill and child safety zone initiative. I have been and continue to be an effective legislator for the common man and blue collar worker in the 99th District who is outraged by the increasing taxes and corruption behind the scenes. Mr. Leibell has made a very bad decision to attack me for the first time in his political career.â€
What is the fourth wall?
??? posts a lot of questions but no one has answers. Perhaps his assembly office is closed for vacation and Ball is not working full time as an assemblyman. Maybe Ball is residing with a new lady friend in Mahopac.
WOW ! What a great story that Mr. Liebell is sick of Mr. Balls Crap ! Ball says Liebell made a bad decision to attack him(Ball)? Why? What is Ball going to do about it? Take up a new venture of making up stories about Mr. Liebell?
Mr. Liebell is WELL RESPECTED by many and this is a clear indication that Ball is in deep trouble with his campaign.
BRAVO Mr. Liebell.
you want a good laugh? greg ball sent out an email earlier questioning the legality of vinny leibell’s contribution to the degnen campaign. ball is no opposition to question political money transfers.
cueg. $18,000.
need i say more?
That is laughable.
Ball, Rights & Yee and all of the SOS boys are most critical of the things that they themselves are most guilty of.
The sound of the Ball being deflated.
Take it to the bank.
Primary
70 Ball
30 Degnan
General
51 / 3 / 2 Ball, R/C/I
43 / 1 Degnan, D/WF
Disenchanted: Accusing a political opponent of something that you yourself are guilty of is called Projection. Ball does it all the time.
Greg Ball’s military service is a joke, a disgrace, and he wants people to think he’s a real veteran. He won’t explain why he was protected in soft cushy jobs in the abbreviated time he spent on active duty.
It’s great the Senator Leibell has come out against him publicly. The people in Putnam love Leibell, and most don’t follow politics, so they need to hear where our Senator stands. Ball is in serious, serious trouble, no doubt about it. He is out of cash with 2 months still to go in the campaign. Then, after the campaign primary, the Democratic machine will kick in, and they are becoming formidable. Sheldon Silver will authorize hundreds of thousands of dollars to get rid of Ball, and Ball is out of money now. Even look at his mailings…....he always sends out big glossy mailers….his last mailing was a simple letter in a regular #10 size envelope. Ball’s campaign is out of cash…..Degnan is coming on like a freight train. Ball better get out of the way.
Political career in ruins…..
Financially busted…...
Out of resources…...
Personal life a mess…...
Losing supporters in droves…...
Not believed anymore…....
Credibility is destroyed…...
Military career exposed for what it was…...
Ball is finished in Putnam County. My only question is: who gets custody of Matt Neuringer?
I got an e-mail from Greg…
Wah… wah… wah.
Everybody’s against me. The evil Senator is funding my opponent. Please send me anything… I’ll even take pennies to fight him.
Stick a fork in him!
Mr. Ball must be in trouble if he is sending emails out … because of the evil senator. Senator Liebell is an outstanding person and if Ball is calling names, Ball better take a good look in the mirror.
Somers Republican,
Not only that, he’s accusing him of making the donations illgally. Ball’s got Balls.
Ball said that Leibell made a mistake attacking him. It’s the other way around: Ball made the mistake of taking on the Senator.
Greg, you don’t have nearly as much power as the Senator.
Power corrupts, absolutely, and that explains Senator Leibell’s actions.
Greg, I mean Matt, I mean Bill, uhhh… never mind… you guys no more about power than anybody. You’ll do anything to get it.
Another day… another downward tick for Ball
