Here’s a copy of the statement former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards issued today regarding his affair with a woman who worked on his campaign:”In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public.
“When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99 percent honest is no longer enough. I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby.
“It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help.
“I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say.’‘
The interview Edwards referred to will air tonight on ABC’s “Nightline.’‘

If Edwards’ affair took place, as he claims, for a short period in 2006, then what was he doing with her in the Beverly Hilton Hotel just two weeks ago? What about that?
The Enquirer caught him there at about 2:30 a.m. There is a story surfacing tonight that someone (whose name I don’t recall) high up in Edwards campaign was sending the woman a lot of money. It might be Edwards’ finance chairman.
The odds are strong Edwards the liar is still lying about not being the baby’s father. The Enquirer has photos.
It is impossible to ignore the Journal News’ contiuning BIAS. This story is now all over the cable news networks, and it is now on the front pages of most newspapers’ web sites. But not the Journal News. It’s a blog item. BIAS.
Pompous, pusillaminous prevaricator! “Being 99% honest is no longer enough.” What a soggy shopping bag full of dismal detritus. As Cricket noted, he just recently was caught leaving this woman’s hotel room in the early hours of the morning and locking himself inside a stall in a public bathroom to avoid Enquirer reporters. He used his ailing wife to campaign as the noble, family-man politician. And, his “If you want to beat me up, feel free ” statement just reconfirms his arrogance and sophomoric sensibilities.

and edwards sought out presidential candidate john sydney mccain to ask him how he survive having an affair while his suffering wife was on the sidelines. they are all a bunch

Edwards is a scheming malpractice lawyer. So it’s no surprise he’s lying and still lying. He took his “Two Americas” gibberish to heart. One America for his wife, the other for his mistress.
This story is going to get bigger. It’s not going away. Now, mama, who has a nutso history herself, is saying she won’t cooperate with any DNA tests to establish paternity. Why not?
How about because she is being paid off? There is a money trail leading right to her. And, there is no father’s name on the birth certificate, either.
The Edwards scandal will remain front and center right up to the Dem Convention. The Enquirer says it has still more on this lying trash Edwards, and it’s coming out this week.
The mainsteram media looks very bad for ignoring this story for a long time. If Edwards was a Republican, it would have been on the front pages and leading newscasts in a matter of days. For just one example of many, ask the NY Times about that. They smeared McCain without a drop of evidence and then had to eat that front page non-story.
