McCain in the (Purchase grad’s) spotlight

Posted by: Liz Anderson - Posted in John McCain, Republican National Convention on Aug 18, 2008

Purchase College dropped us a line to let us know that one of their professors, David Grill, is the official lighting designer for the Republican National Convention, coming up fast on Sept. 1-4 in St. Paul, Minn.

Grill, who is also a Purchase alum, is an Assistant Professor of Theatre Design/Technology and received a 2002 Emmy Award for outstanding lighting direction for his work on the 2002 Winter Olympics.  He was the lighting designer for the opening and closing ceremonies that year. Other credits include this year’s Super Bowl,   five previous Super Bowls, and last summer’s Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
