Gov. Paterson joins Denver lineup
New York Gov. David Paterson will be among a large group of Democratic governors who will speak on the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Denver next week.
Among the governors taking a turn at the podium Tuesday will be Brian Schweitzer of Montana, Deval Patrick of Massachusetts, Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, Janet Napolitano of Arizona, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Jim Doyle of Wisconsin, Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania, Ted Strickland of Ohio and Chet Culver of Iowa.
New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will make a primetime speech that night.
Also giving the event a New York flavor will be Rep. Nydia Velazquez of Brooklyn.
AFL-CIO President John Sweeney, a New York native who never lost his accent, will also speak.
