Klondike Bars For Oppenheimer Opponents

August
19

klondikebar.jpgThe Westchester Citizens for Property Tax Relief is heading to the steps of the state Capitol this morning and handing out Klondike bars to mock Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer, D-Mamaroneck, for being on vacation in Alaska instead of being in Albany earlier this month to vote on a property-tax cap.

The group is calling on the Legislature to back the cap and reminding voters that Oppenheimer was one of only three senators to miss the vote.

Suzi Openheimer is giving this seat away. She hasn’t been plugged in for years. Has anyone seen her since the ‘90’s?

There comes a point in time, when you are as ineffective
as suzi being a democrat in the republican senate that
you just get tired..and really don’t care if you win or
lose..problem is when you don’t care you arent’ doing your
    job

This is a phony vote that the republican Senate engineered to embarrass dems on vacation. The real vote is today. In any event, Suzi Oppenheimer, would have voted against a tax cap. Knowing that a similar tax cap, Proposition 13, created a disaster in California, the Senate republicans added an opt-out provision. So, instead of real tax relief, they have a gimmick. Our district will still have costs- many unfunded but mandated. What happens when we hit the cap? Not even the teachers want this cap and according to your paper”...”groups have warned that a tax cap would hurt education. Senator Oppenheimer and most New Yorkers want real tax relief: a tax cut.

Changing NY means changing the half century of republican Senate mismanagement to Democratic control. As the senior Democrat, Oppenheimer would be head of the Education Committee, a powerful position and institute REAL reform for her district. Liz Feld will be freshman senator, just another tool for the Republican machine.

If the democratic governor was for it…you can bet the
vote wasn’t phony…whats phony is the notion that “suzi”
    is an effective legislator
